Dele strikes me as a sensitive, shy personality. These types don’t necessarily do well with harsh criticism, from coaches and fans. Extreme drive and focus is needed to overcome these feelings, and I don’t see it in Dele’s eyes. He can still get better, just needs to find that drive again.

Everyone crucified him when he said second place was his greatest achievement but now we can see it was and he won united their last trophies. He said that firing him wouldn’t solve united’s issues and he was right and made a scapegoat. He was right about spurs players mentality, people say he threw them under the bus but conte literally said the same thing in his first season there, after losing 5 games in a row. He was right about rose, dele and ndombele. Fired before a final when at the time was the only manager to beat guardiola in a final and they had beaten city before in the same season, so who knows what could have happened

But he is definitely a player that when their head is in the right place and they feel good they can elevate their game and pull off some audacious skills. In his early days he had the knack of getting himself in the right place at exactly the right time and wasn’t afraid to to try things and that’s what made him so good. Moving to Besiktas is not the end of the world. Last year in Champions League Besiktas had 10 injuries per game, only the goal keeper was from the first team. The rest was useless rotation players and u-21 kids. C'mon guys, Besiktas is a beautiful team from a beautiful city and they have the best stadium ever! It's of course a fall after Spurs and Everton but not the end of the world.
