El conocido pinchadiscos murió el domingo por la noche en el hospital ibicenco de Can Misses mientras dormía, según han informado sus familiares y amigos en un comunicado, a través de redes sociales. En el mensaje, su entorno también ha agradecido el apoyo y las donaciones recibidas en los últimos meses tras conocerse que estaba enfermo. Nacido en Barcelona en 1955, José Padilla se trasladó a Ibiza con 20 años y alcanzó la fama internacional en la década de los años 90 con los trabajos recopilatorios de "Café del Mar", de los que vendió más de cinco millones de copias en todo el mundo. Con su música, Padilla se convirtió en el referente de los sonidos ambient y las puestas de sol de la bahía de Sant Antoni. El próximo sábado se le realizará un homenaje, durante la puesta de sol, el hostal La Torre de Sant Antoni acogerá su despedida. Música independiente novedades.

John Lennon: Well I write, I think all the time, so it’s the same, I don’t put it on paper so much these days, but I mean it goes into songs, a lot of the same energy that went into those poems. I don’t know what I actually do with the thoughts but they come out either on film or on paper or on tape. I’ve just got lots of tape which I suppose if I put onto paper it’d be a book. But it’s just a matter of - do I want to make those tapes into paper or make the tapes into records.
