My dog used to chew the leash a lot, but he wasn't mad...he just liked the chew. But sometimes if he was agitated - like if we were out for a walk and rain - which he considered a catastrophic event - began to fall, he would start chewing the leash and jumping around like that last dog in the video.

freedm7.62 likely would of behaved better off the lead. Being on a lead and pulled back a little gets the dog into the ready to go for it mind frame. You see it in fly ball events. They get the dog geared up by holding its harness and tugging (which is better than a collar as you don't strangle your dog..) so a lot of the energy and amped up from the dog was created by the lead. Sadly a lot of dogs that don't "do well off leads" is behaviour created my humans doing stuff like this. If your dog meets a dog as a proper and you just keep pulling him back and tugging on him hell get more and more and more excited and then is dragged away without meeting a potential friend? It isn't good for them. Socialise early. Don't do this tug I'm behaviour, and you'll have a way more well adjusted dog. You of course need to do things sensibly, if a giant angry dog wants to meet your teeny puppy, don't just go "ah well, that Internet lady said to let them meet!" don't do that. But also dint leave your dog struggling. Leave. Don't approach. Don't get into the situation or if you can't avoid it, leave even if it means telling a friend you have to go because it's not fair on the dog. Ramble over... I just feel bad for dogs being called bad when it's not their fault, it's behaviour their owners have taught them.

freedm7.62 oh no! Not a bad dog at all. I've seen some of the most obedient dogs with this issue because people don't realise they are teaching it to their dogs. It just makes them over excitable, prone to pulling and tugging and ignoring commands on the lead at the worst. It's not like trashing the house, just something that can easily be avoided and results in a behaviour that dog owners constantly complain about to me, so it's become a bit of a pet peeve. I just tell people, that with a dog, your every single action teaches them something, and they are just as able to pick up a bad behaviour at age 1 or 10. My partners dog is a mix of it as he tries to assert pack dominance by occasionally testing the waters. Example * he used to steal stuff and keep it, tear it or eat it, paper, plastic...Money... Anything. They would get him to drop it by offering him a treat. He would drop it, they'd be happy. I watched this happen 6 times over 2 days and told them, the dog has trained you. Not you training the dog. He's learnt that if he steals something and shows you whilst pretending to hide it, he'll get a treat. Now he won't steal anything near me, or if he sees me he spits it out and acts like he wasn't doing anything, because I won't give him a treat and I'll just wait for him to behave. He'll occasionally try it with them... but not as often. But just now and then to push boundaries to see if he can regain the upper hand. Sadly I'm not as much use at obedience training anymore, I can only advise and correct. I'm in too much pain and don't have the energy, so I just give my partners a tactic to deal with a behaviour and let them do it. He's been barking at the chickens for a good while but I put down some new rules and now he woofs at them once and plays in the garden. But he still pushes every so often, that's why the humans need to maintain the behaviour to. If you don't keep it up, there's no point doing it. Training dogs = training humans. I know because I was trained by other humans and dogs. ESPECIALLY the dogs!!!!

Last one was mad tho. Like dissapointed, then realised he was fooled and retaliate mad. I would be careful, if I was you. Dogs tend to act unpredictable and can bite if you mess around with their food. Even if its a familiy dog or rasied from the pup. I guess something withe loss of smell really helped.

Leash biting isn't always sign of frustration. Have been around dogs my whole life. Even my 15 year old dog when he was a pup even brough me the leash to play with it. When dogs get excited they often offer you somewhat tug of war.
