That's Great! So happy to hear you found your home here in Mexico too! I know the feeling all too well of not feeling accepted and here in Mexico it has always been the complete opposite. Even when people don't like you they still give you a chance. Mexico really is something truly special! Viva Mexico! Thanks for sharing with us!

Do as the locals do. Never travel at night or before sunrise with your own car.

Great advice! Mainly in rural areas because the roads are really dark, the potholes, the people and animals on the roads and many more road hazards that most people are not used to. Best to travel during the day where you can see everything clearly.

"If we hated each other in the USA, then we'll hate each other in BELMOPAN, BELIZE also." Wow!...can't believe you said that...Or I should say how you alluded to the current FIASCO going on inside these United States. Because that's exactly how I'm feeling about the whole thing.

Just brought my 88 year old mom to Guadalajara for a visit. Biggest dangers so far are sidewalks and guys on scooters on highways weaving around traffic. Like pinballs bouncing off of cars and trucks.

Mexico depends on the foreigners living here and Americans/foreigners are not committing crimes nor are here illegally taking advantage of Mexico. They aren’t raping young girls and murdering. Foreigners are for the most part abiding citizens. We have been living here in Morelia, in a nice private gated community, crime has increased, violence and theft, people who are Mexican nationals who have lived all their lives here also noticed violence, crime, corruption on the rise. Not all Mexicans are happy, we live in a world plagued with violence etc. our home was broken into and thieves stole in a matter of minutes, with Ring Cameras, sound alarms, siren 🚨 lights, didn’t matter. Mexico is a lovely country but it also has many negative effects. As do other countries. No different. No country is free from the effects of crime.

I’m a dual citizen. However, I’m 6’3” with blue eyes. Should I hide my Mexican ID when dealing with police?
@JoseArteagaTravels
@JoseArteagaTravels Сағат бұрын
I don't show them ID ever. In Mexico you actually have rights but you must know how to use them and what they are. Therefore a police officer can not legally stop you for any reason nor demand you identify yourself. Only time I carry ID is when i'm driving..... Out here in Mexico not having ID on you is NOT a Crime. But long story short there is "white Privilege" out here. Christian my Mexican Born Brown wife gets harassed more and has less rights than me a 6 foot tall cuban/american White skinned guy

I want to be sincere and i wish all the best to the local people in yucatan, lately l visited yucatan ,merida ,progreso and around its safe place people are mostly nice and i love them only the negatives l noticed that outside of malecon ,paseo montejo ,exists big ignorance, in progreso, chicxulub chelem youll cross to the 2 nd.street street and on from the beach and on all just just looks like mega garbage dump and trash everywhere, in merida in the most colonias locals dump trash everywhere ,sidewalks broken and most houses filthy and evrything is crumbling of course where the wealthy educated mexicans live is very nice and clean,out of it despite people are nice but on average lacks community concience ,pople dont care, l can bet in some u.s.gettos. is very bad but the difference is that in u.s. getos people are very bad , this is my conclusion as a turist during my voyage to usa , mexico.

In America, it is socially acceptable to drink and drive and get a DUI play Little fine and do it again if you like More Americans die in a DIY accident than Americans travelling abroad is here
@JoseArteagaTravels
@JoseArteagaTravels 8 күн бұрын
That is interesting you say that because that has not been the experience of many people I have met who have gotten a DUI in the USA for something as simple as sleeping in their car because they did not want to drink and drive and thus that DUI has basically ruined their lives. I am Against Drinking and Driving but in the USA they use any excuse to give people a DUI or just about any infraction. On the other hand I feel like in Mexico Drinking and Driving is more of a problem simply because they are more relaxed with the enforcement of the laws out here. Two opposite sides of the spectrum.

I never said I didn't agree with the deportations that both Mexico and the USA are executing right now. I said, that most people are in favor of the deportations of illegal immigrants especially those with a criminal history. I also agree many illegal immigrants should be deported. Not quiet sure where I was misunderstood. Hopefully that clears it up.
