This is a top piano concerto full of romantic melodies. It remembers me the beautiful romantic performance of Anton Rubinstein's 5th piano concerto even by Adrian Ruiz on Genesis and Colosseum. Concerto's I possess for 30 years!

One of Ponti's lesser results, IMO. Not technically of course, but it sounds awfully rushed. Ruiz takes more time, and the concerto is all the better for it.

I tend not to agree. While I love Adrian Ruiz's recording I find this captures far more of the 'spirit' of the piece.

I tend to agree, Ponti takes almost 3 minutes less than Ruiz with the first movement marked "moderato". That takes some doing!! But that's Ponti's style, he never hangs around.
