This is an excellent tutorial. Note- it is the same exact procedure one would follow for the Sprint/Boost variation of the device. Remember, the more heat applied, the easier it will be to remove the broken screen.

I second this. Def cut that ribbon cable clean in half not knowing the general area to be cautious. Excellent guide otherwise though. And a replacement was $8 on amazon, nbd

Pleasr, you mentioned an autoclave and something else , what was that for? I used an autoclave in dentist office to clean tools. Granddaughter slipped😑 and I need to replace our (my😁)screen. Would tapping screen with packing tape help to take it off, it is shattered😣. I see one of your commenters, said they didn't have a heat gun, I don't either, I was wondering if a hair dryer gets hot enough I'm thinking a heating pad might also work Thank you

Thanks for the video. I made the same mistake with the home button. Do you have some advice on how to fix that? By the way, im only trying to extract the data from the phone. My girlfriend put it down the garbage disposal. It wad bent and the screen was totally destroyed, got wet, but the phone still makes alert sounds and I think I heard it vibrate when I turned it on. I'm holding on to any hope that I can retrieve my pics and contacts. Thanks again!

Hi sorry for that , that cable is easy to replace watch the whole video , take the phone apart and that cable is connected to the motherboard , just pay atención How are the old one is laying down on the phone and install the new one on the same way, you can even take a picture before even remove the old one just to help the memory remember and good luck.

I was also worried about this. I just made sure I didn’t put the pry tool in too far around those buttons. I also cleaned the back and home button with a little alcohol and Qtips to make sure they didn’t stick from the old glue. They are very fragile. I just got done fixing my sons phone and I did great job. Very proud of myself. Lol! I save $90 bucks had it priced to fix they said $150 I spent about $62 and tax on everything I need to fix.
