Because this is my channel, I can do serious videos if I want to. And I want to. So, in honor of the Feast of St. Joseph, here is "Joseph and Son," a song I wrote imagining Joseph's dying words to Jesus.
A very big "thank you" to all the artists who created pieces for this video!

Basically "That the child that you delivered, would soon deliver you" from "Mary did you know", but it doesn't contradict any Marian Dogma.

@@rtwfreak2012 *puts on hat of smugness and dons smirk of condescension* AKSHUALLLYY Mary sings, "My spirit rejoices in God my Savior," so it is heretical to assert that Mary was not delivered; the dogma is that she was delivered from original sin, from the moment of her conception but still by the Merit of her Son.

Lyrics: Come a little closer, my son My eyes are tired and the light is almost gone Come let me touch you one last time Let me feel the flesh of God, just let me hold my child divine I used to fear I couldn’t do The task your Father gave to me, to raise you to be you But now I look at you and know He didn’t let me fail, so I don’t fear that anymore Oh, my Son, now my work’s done And it’s time for me to fall asleep So my dear one, when your hour comes Be who you are. Feed your sheep I know this isn’t what you want So let your tears fall down, but don’t forget the things I taught you Devil will rage and death will sting But soon they'll both be buried by my boy, the King of Kings Oh, my Son, now my work’s done And I’ll rest in a grave of stone and mud And my dear one, when your hour comes Be who you are. Shed your blood. Behold, I’m telling you a mystery The one that I adopted is the one who’ll adopt me Oh, my Son, now my race is run But we know you’ll see my face again And on that last day, you’ll hear me say You were who you are. Amen.

When you look for things you don't like , you will quickly find reason to complain and that's pretty much the opposite of worship, plenty of songs of worship and a lot of new songs that are good. I question the theological accuracy of this and it is not a worship or praise song. Traditional things sometimes are just comfortable and not new songs.
@kiyashi85
@kiyashi85 3 жыл бұрын
@@danielcooke9974 I didn't say worship music. I said contemporary Christian music, and what I meant by that was the generic cookie cutter lyrics and melodies that poorly copy secular pop music. It's a similar story in contemporary country music. I can tell when a song is written by a genuine artist and when it's written as a cash grab by 'the industry'. I do agree with you though that old doesn't equal better. Antiquated vocabulary doesn't necessarily mean more intelligent or theologically sound. I do give more artistic license to those songs like I consider this one that isn't trying to be direct worship, but is getting a person to think about the Biblical story from different angles or view points. Frankly, I'll even take the bubblegum Christian pop if it gets people thinking about Jesus in their lives

@@mikek7029 Of course not. True Christian music is to teach, convict, rebuke, and encourage. It's not cheap entertainment and should be produced only as per the direct guidance of God. Anybody can mishmash "Christian" themes together to please men but very few can convey the will of the Spirit that works not in accordance with the desires of men.

A beautiful story portrayed through beautiful lyrics. How often we forget, Joseph was a mortal man, and he remained a mortal man to the moment his last borrowed Divine breath escaped his lips. We don't talk about Joseph much in church life, largely because Joseph isn't really mentioned much in Scripture beyond the Nativity. But consider the heady responsibility given to Joseph by God: You will raise my Son, and you will be the earthly father of Him Who is King of Creation. What must it have been like in those final mortal moments for Joseph? What memories flashed through his mind and played over his heart in those final seconds before in one blink this world went dark and Joseph found himself looking upon the face of his son, Jesus, glorified in Heaven.

As I read your comment, I wondered what it must have been like from Jesus’ perspective. I could heal him. I could raise him from the dead. I can be here to say, I’ll see you into glory, and be with you forever. You took me in when most men would and will cast me aside, I love you Dad.

I doubt as a 1st century Jewish man that he was able to fully grasp that the Messiah had already come and he probably didn't know much beyond that. Even the disciples were lost in denial and ignorance until God opened their understanding. This was after the resurrection. As to what extend God revealed his plan I can't fully say but I highly doubt that Joseph was able to discern the theological facts that we today take for granted.

Amen! Whether or not Joseph knew his adopted son is king of all, I'd believe he grasped enough to understand that someone important and highly favoured had come into the world, given his virgin wife's pregnancy as well as multiple angelic episodes. Joseph was there for it all, and Jesus told his parents where his real father's house was. I wonder, sometimes, just how much we see of the final picture, even now. No eye has seen, and no ear has heard what God has prepared. We are waiting for the rest of the plan to unfold, and we have our own ideas about what that will look like, just like the Jews of that time had their own ideas about the Messiah to come. I pray we can wait trustingly for God's faithful fulfilment of every promise.

As one that took in children that were not my own; this one really hits in the feels. To have the honor of the trust of God, to raise His Son. And to have God in flesh there to comfort you as you close your eyes in death; yet there to greet you as you awaken in eternity. I would like to learn this to sing Easter Sunday service, but I don’t know if I could do that and cry less than I am now.
