I use to help on a late model car back in the late seventies in WV. The car was a Howe chassis running a 355 Malcuit engine. They were still running factory sheet metal at that time. As I remember the car was one of a few that ran coil instead of leaf springs on the rear. Still remember when the set up went from running off the left rear to more like a sprint car running off the right rear and the left front would weigh about 150 lbs with that set up. We would race in WV and Ohio every Friday and Saturday night. Great memories as I was 18 at the beginning.

For 13, Joseph looks good!! And our kart racer did a great job, too. I didn't know Joshua ran Late Models!! Thanks for the throwbacks!! AWESOME STUFF RIGHT THERE!!! Now, we just need to get the Joiner brothers back on the track together....I got an idea, Jonathan, you and Joseph come to Callahan Speedway and run karts with Joshua. I bet I can line up a couple karts for you guys, and it would be a blast to watch!!!

A lot may have changed since this race. Who could drive the best , the car set ups, the amount of hair you each had. But one thing that hasn't changed is Bo's graphic package for his cars. It looks just like the one he ran last year

It's interesting to watch how totally different the handling was between the and now. So much difference in front end suspension. Hell maybe even rear too if yall were running Z-links back then.
@burnychaplin46014 жыл бұрын
That's actually real cool feeling to feel that left front dangling in the air as long as it sets down smooth and doesn't upset the car getting in the corner
@robertjackson80204 жыл бұрын
look like Joseph knew what he was doing for the first time in a race car I think that's so awesome when the right front comes off the track 👍👍👍
@ralphwatten24264 жыл бұрын
Joshua looked a little like Scott Bloomquist out there. Who needs a left front wheel?
@pv2xeek4 жыл бұрын
The irony is that is usually an indicator of an incorrect setup but some guys can make it work. I've seen some modified cars run like that but you put anyone else behind the wheel and they're junk. Some guys just like it that way I guess. Lol.
@ralphwatten24264 жыл бұрын
@@pv2xeek I agree. Lifting the left front would give you a lot of weight on the right rear and on a given track and conditions could be the hot setup. Great video though. Thanks to Jonathan.
@dustylewis86924 жыл бұрын
Back in the 90’s and early 00’s most late models were faster on 3 wheels. I’ve seen some on 2 and they were bad fast
@gotdirt410sp4 жыл бұрын
Scott was one of the first too keep the front on the ground .
@ralphwatten24264 жыл бұрын
@@gotdirt410sp I don't know if you watched him on TV either last year or the year before when his left front was caved from contact. It looked like his tie rod, but he won the race after a re-start like that. Unbelievable. It can be done.
