One of the cool things about this scene is that it's our first introduction to Joseph, coming after Jonathan. When he starts to talk, extending generosity to Smokey and calmly asking about why the cop wiped a booger on him, we're being played to think that he's going to be a rehash of Jonathan, the ultimate gentleman. But then 2:03 happens xD

"Kids Next Door, battle stations!" - Joseph Joestar
@tysondennis10164 жыл бұрын
Bookends: Both Joseph’s first and last scenes involve him letting a good kid who’s in a financial crisis get away with stealing his wallet. First, his longtime friend, last, the illegitimate son he never knew existed until recently. And the first and last times he uses Hamon in Battle Tendency, he’s causing an explosion. First to break a corrupt cop’s finger with a pop bottle (up yours, Dio “I love 7-Up” Brando), last to cause an eruption to make Kars the Pillar Astronaut.

It's amazing that Joseph's actor is the same voice actor for Number One in Code Name: Kids Next Door.

This is unrealistic. If they wanted us this was really 1930's America, Smokey would be dead.

No, I gave up on the series after this travesty.

the way Joeseph is introduced they make you think he might be a rehash of johnathan but then it hits you as a punch straight to the face, this ain't no Johnathan Joestar rehash, it's a new person with a new personality.

I'm surprised nobody talks about Smokey's exposition at 02:30. From describing Joseph's "aura" to seeing hamon first hand, he basically narrates that this is how Chapter 2 begins.

Yes, Hamon is amazing, but... Can we take a moment to appreciate he sniped a guy's finger with a goddamn bottlecap? No sights, presumably no practice hipfiring, no prior shots to get a feel for where it's going to land. All in the time it took for the hammer on the cop's revolver to pull back, but not fire.
