Hey Joe, Other videos would be cool. Topics I'd like would include: formal gear reviews (one item, 10-20min), outdoors related outings i.e. going to an outdoor goods store, visiting a knife maker, visiting well known bush-crafters, buying new gear etc..., Top five or ten (eg. knives, tents, camping trips, campsites, places you want to camp or travel to etc...), behind the scenes of making your videos (maybe get a buddy to come along and record your entire trip filming approach and give tips and advice...). Those are just a few that I'd like to see fi it's helpful.

I think it would be interesting to see a "Ask Joe" segment where you pull questions from the comment section that can be better answered or clarified at home by showing the necessary equipment, maps or techniques. How to service and store gear after an outing plus any preventive maintenance you do would be interesting as well. You could display any T-shirts or gear you are offering for sale with the proper contact info that can be linked to the video in question. And don't forget to include a trip to your favourite butcher shop with Scout and to the craft brewery with a buddy so that everyone comes home with a smile.

Video idea: rack up the sponsors for camping/hiking equipment and do reviews on it, you have lots of knowledge on that stuff so testing things would be fun, doing like a wranglestar but not axes just of camping equipment would be really informative and benefit us as viewers, also you get lots of stuff to test. “Cup of joe” is an old navy term. Back in the day when alcohol was authorized on Ship’s work was not really getting done. The secretary of the navy made alcohol during working hours against the rules. The strongest thing the sailors had other than booze was coffee. The secretary of the navy was Josephus Daniels. Creating the name, “cup of joe”. Thanks for what you do man. You’re an inspiration!

Branching out the videos topics I think is good. Be careful as you will have negative haters that get mad at creators because it isn't "what they want to see". Man, when you started talking about Scout and how he’s getting up there, it really hit me. We had to put down our yellow Lab, Beau, this month due to cancer (at almost 16). He started having difficulty walking about a year and a half ago so I made every effort to do stuff with him that I hadn’t got around to doing. Beau loved long hikes and swimming, which he did a lot of, but I never really thought to take him camping. Your videos were actually the reason I took him camping for the first time in late 2017. Even though he was slower and having a bit of trouble with some of the uneven ground, Beau loved ever second of it - being alone in the wilderness with your dog really is an amazing experience. I kick myself for not doing this when he was younger. I’ve been catching up on some of your videos that I missed and this one just got me around the 9:40 mark. Scout is such a character when he’s with you - hopefully you’ll have more adventures with him to share once you’ve settled in with the new baby (congrats btw). Great channel and content. Looking forward to future videos!

I got a bit teary when he mentioned Scout getting on a bit. My doggie Major is only a 1 and a half or so, we've only had him a month, but I love him so much that the idea of him getting old and passing on horrifies me. I know that with luck, we'll have him for a decade more and then some, and I want to fill his life with fun and adventure. Rest in peace, Beau x
@hermit62085 жыл бұрын
That's a good long life for a lab though. I know it's not a lot of consolation and I don't mean to sound insensitive. My sister lost her Golden Lab at like 7 years old. Painful to lose a pet, but your dog was blessed with 16 years of life with someone who loved him.

Joe is such an inspiration for getting out in the woods. One of my favorite all time trips was a solo backpack in October in the Sierra Nevadas where it was down in the 20s (Farenheit) at night. So peaceful and free from yuppies.

Hey Joe.... " A cup of Joe" is a slang term coined by the Navy, actually meant as an insult. In WW1 the Secretary to the Navy President Josephus Daniels cracked down on prostitution and banned alcohol. So the in anger, the Sailors began using the term "have a cup of Joe" while being forced to begrudgingly drink coffee instead of alcohol. I know nobody likes a know-it-all, but you mentioned you never understood why.... Now you know :)
