Hey Joe, does anyone use the low kick to transition to southpaw to throw a straight left down the middle instead of returning to the initial stance? It seems like some really interesting combos could come of this.

Video material itself is great, but examples (guys behind and drilling) are very mediocre: minimal hip usage, not enough sholder rotation on punches, do no hide chin behind the shoulder while punching, dropping hands when trowing punches. Of course those are details that are not specific to this part of tutorial, but their fundamentals are off and it might mislead beginners.

Too many people think that they need to hit hard or be super fast to be successful as a fighter. Joe won the Glory title with 14 total fights (amateur and professional combined) using very fundamental, basic techniques on top of being a savage. You can train your ass off and have power for days, but if you are off balance, that power will never transfer to your attacks. If you can't control distance, you will jam your strikes or be susceptible to counter shots. Awesome series from a world class fight...

great point about not stepping forward, but actually pushing off the back foot. when i throw 1 2 i feel like i step forward. will definately be more mindful of this. thanks.

As far as footwork goes, are we ALWAYS pushing off of the rear foot when stepping forward? Or simply just stepping forward with the leading foot and letting the rear foot follow? Been wondering this for a while now

Great videos Joseph! Very clear and easy to follow. Can't wait for the more intermediate/advanced tutorials (still like the first 2 episodes. Always good to repeat basics. You never know, maybe I've missed some tips or tricks) I'd love an episode covering all the different leg kick angles and techniques (heard you mention it on Joe Rogan podcast)

In this video the way you explained stepping over the line for some reason made me realize something little I had been doing subconsciously for over 15 years...now that I am aware of it my balance, footwork and counter attacks while moving backwards feel much more fluid and natural. Much appreciated, thanks for the videos!
