aljanat5 Are you one of those savants who is slow at everything except for writing screenplays? You let them use you and take all the credit and what do you have to show for it? A neckbeard, an astronaut pen that writes upside down and a cupboard full of Twinkie’s.

Adored good time and was blown away by uncut gems on my first viewing. I loved it even more on second watch, and like Good Time I know it will become a classic as I watch it several more times.

Jake Ram man I watched it twice in theatres and it did not get easier. I think that’s the ultimate testament to its power, like even knowing what’s coming I felt it every bit as much as I did the first time. And I mean, it’s not as if it’s purely a high wire tension act, I think the film works on so many interconnecting deeper levels, but as that anxiety is the vehicle that drives the film, it’s amazing it works even the second time around.

Punch-Drunk Love is a phenomenal movie, so for popular media and people alike to say this is Sandler’s big molting into Oscar-worthy acting is only a testament to how the works of filmmakers like PTA and the Safdies end up tragically overlooked.
