Josh Bryant teaches Nsima Inyang the "Dead" Bench Press. This is where the bar is loaded and pressed from pins, at a dead stop. Josh details the functionality of this exercise and the rep range he likes to stick to when implementing this version of the press.

Doing it on an incline, any incline, is much harder than flat. Its best with a slight incline if you are going to do that, dont lift it near your clavicle, that would indeed be hard on your shoulders. It is a GREAT exercise though.

I've been implementing a lot of Josh's teachings and I was able to break a nearly year long bench platue and cut 30 lbs. I was really skeptical at first cause a lot of the movements seemed so counter intuitive, but he has really done his research looking at probably a century of documented strength training and knows what works.

@harleyzeth
@harleyzeth 6 жыл бұрын
dumwee But his explanation didn't really make sense. No matter how much elastic tension you have, it won't make up for the loss of leverage. The lower you have to lower the bar, the harder it will be to get it off your chest. If you don't believe me, just set a boxed deck of cards on your chest and lower the bar to it and pause, then press. It will be far easier than if you went all the way down because your arms are in a better mechanical advantage.

J Dub What’s my point? Sometimes the experts just can’t teach, so everything you said has absolutely no bearing on my point. He is a dreadful teacher, anyone listening can see he is a dreadful teacher on this video and so it makes no difference what he does or who he does it with, his teaching style here would be best served reviewing burgers.

Jacob McClure Agh you started off so well and then had to show how butt hurt you are by calling me retarded and asking how big my dick is! Lord God are you that sad that after a month you want to defend a man so devoid of personality or ability in this video, something the blind can see!! I love how you tried and failed to use my own words to make what is a non-point😂. Makes no difference who he is or what he does, in this video he is neither clear or consistent in explaining things, that’s the only point. Nothing more nothing less, now back to you!! Why so upset? Are you that sad that it took you a month to come back with a childish taunt that you think will hurt me and make you look like the big man!!😂😂 Boohoo, you got me, I’m devastated😂 As Europe’s strongest man and voted to be the next God, I’m stronger than you all does that help you😂😘😂
