I wonder how fellow archeologists feel about him getting all the credit? Josh Gates Discovers this and Josh Gates discovers that when in fact he is invited to a location that some poor slob has been excavating and eating dirt for years and finally finds something and this guy Josh comes swooping in and its "Josh Gates finds this and that". In this case its Pirate Treasure. What do I know, I always stick up for the underdog and the worker. Don't mind me.

If that’s near Looe bar then it’s more than likely off the President wreck that went down towards the end of the 1600’s, they put its worth at around £8 million. Though with that said, so many ships have gone down around our coast in storms, there’s probably hundreds out there that were carrying precious cargo! Sailors used to say “From Pentire Point to Hartland light, A watery grave by day and night”.

As soon as they pulled that "silver coin" I was like nah that was placed for sure. Only gold doesn't tarnish, and even then under the ocean experiences corrosion from the sand and salt. So the coin if it was gold would be incredibly scratched and rounded after almost 400 years. Not a perfect shiny disk. Silver would absolutely be black under all that salt water
