Josh Groben sounds as good live in a huge stadium as other performers sound hiding in studio wearing headphones, using special microphones, using sound engineers on sound board, and in sound proof room. I heard this song years back, been fan ever since. I had over a decade of singing and acting. On my best days I was never close to this level of perfect.

Josh Groban's performance of “You Raise Me Up” during the 2004 Super Bowl NASA tribute was a profoundly moving and unforgettable moment. Set against the backdrop of the tragic Columbia Space Shuttle disaster in 2003, Groban’s rendition became a poignant tribute to the brave astronauts who lost their lives, while also offering a sense of hope and resilience in the face of sorrow. From the first note, Groban’s powerful yet tender voice carried a deep sense of reverence and emotional weight. His delivery was filled with heartfelt emotion, creating a sense of comfort and reflection that resonated with both the live audience and millions of viewers watching from home. Groban’s performance was understated yet deeply impactful, allowing the lyrics to shine as a message of support and strength during a difficult time for NASA and the nation. The song’s message of being lifted and supported during times of struggle aligned perfectly with the spirit of the tribute, honoring not only the fallen astronauts but also the enduring legacy of space exploration and human achievement. As the performance reached its crescendo, Groban’s soaring vocals filled the stadium, elevating the moment into a powerful anthem of hope and remembrance. Accompanied by a choir and poignant visuals of the Columbia crew and space missions, the performance created a somber yet uplifting atmosphere, providing a moment of unity and reflection amidst the grandeur of the Super Bowl. Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” during the 2004 Super Bowl will always be remembered as one of the most emotionally stirring performances, honoring the courage of the astronauts and lifting the spirits of everyone who watched. It was a perfect blend of musical excellence and heartfelt tribute, showcasing Groban’s incredible ability to connect with an audience on a deeply emotional level.

This was in memory of the Columbia crew. I knew one of the astronauts, Michael Anderson, the pilot. This was his second mission. He had a wife and 2 daughters waiting for him at the end of this mission. He had lived in my college dorm and dated my close friend. He was an incredibly kind, quiet, and dedicated person, whose dream had always been to be an astronaut. It was gratifying to see he achieved his dream. I was on the freeway when I heard about the explosion and had to pull over, in shock over the horror of it. This choice of song, and artist, was a perfect tribute to him and his fellow mission team, and continues to bring tears to my eyes.

Nobodies opinion mattered in my eyes. And now I’m still depressed but I’m not suicidal. I made lots of new friends over the years and they kept me company when I was down.

I was amazed and surprises by how many #love, #dedication and #devotional songs have been written by men exclusively. Do you ever stop and check/investigate for yourself ⁉️Men women and children across the planet can perform them well but that's what makes the song so perfect as a song that sits between mainstream audiences and "spiritual/religious audiences"⁉️ What say you⁉️
