The commentators obviously have no idea how good Chris is. I rolled with him at a seminar in South Carolina and he’s an absolute unit.

Why do you think they 'obviously have no idea how good Chris is'? He is new to ADCC and on the up and up, so it would make sense that they don't know how good he is, from a fan perspective. They've also probably never grappled with him From the commentary, I don't get the sense that they are undervaluing his skills. They make some notes about Josh being experienced, but they also are excited and complementary of all of Chris's good work against an accomplished competitor. I agree with your assessment that he is an absolute unit. The guy is ridiculously well-rounded.

@@etimezzjust my opinion of the commentary. The spent first couple minutes talking about hinger and finally get to talking about Woj and they say “dark horses win too”
@etimezz2 ай бұрын
@@Patrick-e4n are you trying to diss on the commentators? or just stating that they don't know much about Chris? it makes sense to me that they would talk about josh more since he is more well known/adcc medalist and refer to Chris as a dark horse.

Quick question, did josh hinger tap to the heel hook in the end? I didn't see it, so wasn't sure what was technically the end of the match, surely it wasn't his ankle snaping yeah? Potentially he verbally taped?
@ROBAJY2 ай бұрын
He tapped, yes. You can't really tell if the breaking pressure is right on the ankle or on the knee, it really depends on small adjustments and angles: sometimes you can snap the ankle, fibula/shin or knee. Every adjustment leads to a different specific joint. In this case I assume it's a bit of both.

I don’t understand. Adcc spends so much money on production and this is what we get. I’ve seen better production from 1990s videos

Question: When these guys interlock fingers, are they allowed to twist and try and hurt each others fingers?
@user-vc62 ай бұрын
Yes it’s called the mercy grip, illegal in normal wrestling but legal here. It’s generally stall heavy. I’ve heard in one match mikey Musumeci vs Martinez at wno where Musus finger was broken. He won the match though but post match hes a bit annoyed about it..
@user-vc62 ай бұрын
To be clear it’s extremely low chance to actually cause injury against trained opponents.. just mostly results in nothing - neutral/stalling position

the rules were set up to encourage the athletes to get submissions early instead of trying to win on points. What actually happened is people got better at stalling for 5 min smh
