Ape, The Great Ape ah, dude yeah he was. He just was evicted prior to getting this audition. He was doing bit parts and struggling and was looking for a room to rent since the shitty gigs he was getting wasnt paying shit. Very similar to Jeremy Renner before getting "Hurt Locker" audition.

I HEARD that he first auditioned for Jack, but as he came out the room he thought he had done really badly so he kinda had a tanrum and started throwing kicking rhe chairs around the room thinking he was alone. An audition tape is them auditioning for the roles of these characters. It's them reading for the roles, to prove that they can be the characters. It's their audition, but since it was taped, they put it on the DVD of season 1. I hope that helps.
