Anyone who thinks Gundy cares more for himself than for his players needs to go back to his “I’m a man I’m 40 rant.” First it’s just one of the greatest rants in coaching history, and “it’s not even close.” Second his whole point is him putting himself in the line of fire to protect the players.

If you think Gundy cares more about his players than he does himself, you are the fool he expects you to be. A good speech means nothing without follow-through, and he's proven more than a few times that his interests are the only ones he is interested in.

Looked up the definition of rant. " Rant - speak or shout at length in a wild, impassioned way." So first off, there was no rant. Second, he's pretty much spot on in everything he said. Third, Gundy has also been the HC there since 2005. I guessed fifteen years. I guess I'm part of the under. The "I'm forty" rant, was in fact a rant and took place in 2007.

As someone that recently used to work at OSU, I know exactly how he and everyone on campus is paid. By the University!! Not agents! Every dept has a budget and it has to be approved. Anyone that has ever worked at a University or has common sense knows this.

I'm all for players being able to transfer, able to make money, I enjoy it, and at the same time Gundy is correct. In the end, everyone had their chance to transfer, everyone got paid what they could, now that you got to transfer to a place you wanted to be and got paid money as you should, time to concentrate and play football.

Oh BTW way back in 1971 my senior year of high school football, O-STATE was the only "D1" school who recruited me. Played NAIA college football as a DB 1972-1976 at Southwestern State College, renamed SWOSU, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Mike has gotten a raise every year at OSU for the past 19 years. He's been coaching a subpar team for years. In 21 he got a new contract and got 3.5 million more. Just for the Cowboys to go 7-6 in a lowly big12. He gets about 7.5 million a year for a team who last sniffed the playoff in 2011. His team threatened a boycott because of his stupid comments in the past. Mike shut up cash those checks and continue to fall below expectations
