Congrats on the sponsor. I'm currently debating on whitelines poly engine mounts. I'm glad us Monaro owners/enthusiasts are still getting the aftermarket love more than 12 years later. The other day I was thinking 255 up front and 285 rear for mine.

Did these really fit with no modification with the BC coilovers? I’m reading all over the place that they don’t.

Did you see me modify the bushings in any way in this video?
@tedbjorklund33015 жыл бұрын
Josh's Car Corner I did not. I’m wondering if your upper spring seat on your BCs are different from mine somehow...on mine it has a large inner diameter hole, much larger than the collet. Seen here at :20 kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXbcn4mYp6Zsm7c . If I’m reading the whiteline instructions correctly, you do not re-use the big yellow bearing ring (that’s what the swivel ball is for) and you assemble it upper spring seat, thin collet, strut mount, thick collet, then the strut retainer donut they provided on top with the top nut. Does that match what you remember from installing it?
@williesworldofwheels6 жыл бұрын
I would recommend Nitto NT01s. Anything else is less. With 275s on the rear, gto is a monster. If you haven’t researched into nt01s, there’s a lot you’re missing. Thanks for the info on the strut angle though. I will be upgrading very soon! I have about a hair of room in between my tires and struts!

What did you use for the upper spring platform? The instructions say to reuse upper spring platform from the coilovers but our BCs don’t really have this...

Nice video and congratulations on the Whiteline sponsorship. Not surprised you encountered the usual alignment shop headache when asking for them to not be lazy and actually touch the camber PROPERLY. I came to the same conclusion as you, just do it yourself. So big question about those offset strut mounts; how did you get those offset mounts to fit on your BC coilovers? LS1GTO.com always preached that those mounts didn't find the OE size strut shaft or the common coilovers shaft diameters, and that those were originally engineered for Noltec coilovers that are long gone. The solution was the machine the collets to open up the hold and clearance the collet "shoulders". Even Andy at KollarRacingProdcts stopped selling them because his customers always had problems with them. Did you have to do any of that or were these truly bolt-on without issue? Did Whiteline provide any extra technical info for you to install these or did you just use the standing instructions from their website? Finally, looking at your chalk, you may want some more negative camber all around for a tight course like that. It looks like you're rolling over your outer tread blocks and almost reaching the sidewall. Almost looked like feathering just before the sidewall. Sorry for the forum style comment. Video had a lot of GTO content, it's appreciated.
@JoshsCarCorner6 жыл бұрын
The mounts were a direct bolt on for my coilivers. The lower collets you use with a coilover setup were a perfect fit on my BCs.
@williesworldofwheels6 жыл бұрын
How did you lean your strut with two bolts on the bottom? Are you bending the strut for it to fit? I don’t understand. I just called Kollar racing and they told me it won’t work.
@AdditionSupplyDepotsRequired6 жыл бұрын
@@williesworldofwheels you want to Google up how camber bolts work and how you replace one OE bold with a camber bolt. They allow for a few degrees of camber range through angling the knuckle in the strut clevis.
@williesworldofwheels5 жыл бұрын
Michael yea I did after I bought regular whiteline strut mounts. I’m pretty blown I didn’t get the camber correction ones because now I just bought a new set up. Going from eibach springs and kyb struts to BC br coilovers. It Could totally use the offset ones.

I have a question, I’m having the dreaded strut and tire rub what would be a fix for this?
@JoshsCarCorner6 жыл бұрын
One is these bushings, a second is new poly strut mounts lower control arm bushings, the last us 5mm spacers for the wheels.

Josh's Car Corner ok thank you! Also this is hard to explain but it sometimes feels as if the front suspension isn’t moving as it should, for example when I switch into another lane it feels as if the car is somewhat jumping or pulling toward the side I’m going for example left. I figure this could be caused by worn bushings because the car has 110,000 miles and I believe none of the bushings have been changed the previous owner instead of fixing it just stored it and sold it.

I have a question for you, I have a 06 GTO as well, and I am scared of really pushing it through turns because of the awesome front sump they put on them. I am scared that the oil pressure will drop. Have you run into anything like that seeing what you are up too? (If you already covered that, I am sorry, I am new to your channel)
@JoshsCarCorner6 жыл бұрын
I don't have an oil pressure gauge yet, but I know what you mean. Improved Racing makes a much better oil pan baffle for the GTO that I'm going to install someday. Maybe this winter...
@rickybobby03146 жыл бұрын
Josh's Car Corner Yeah I bought one and just haven’t had the time yet to install it yet. The best fix would be putting a dry sump in it. But that’s like $5k todo. Don’t have that kind of cash yet for that upgrade lol. Thanks for taking the time to respond, like the videos. Are you still working with the GTO parts heaven guy? I could use a new/used part for my passenger side window regulator.
@AdditionSupplyDepotsRequired6 жыл бұрын
You can put an extra half quart of oil in the car and not really have to worry about things at an autocross or novice trackday. Of course, baffles and/or an oil accumulator is worthwhile insurance for high RPM/high G cornering, but you engine won't blow if you don't buy stuff. I'm at 155,000 miles and my LS2 still runs great after plenty of Autocross, some trackdays, and a couple Tail of the Dragon weekends.
