Thanks buddy. Saved me hundreds. One tip: if you spin the strut while trying to get the top nut on, the bottom nut will back out and prevent you from fully threading through the top nut. It'll just stop when you try to tighten it, and you'll wonder what the fuck is going on until you take it apart again. Don't risk rounding the hex end of the strut arm. If the nut doesn't go down, take the washers off again and make sure the bottom nut hasn't moved.

My BMR poly mounts only lasted 3 years then they started to crumble. I strongly suggest Super Pro duralast polymer mounts. It's basically a hybrid mount. Best of both worlds strength of poly but comfort of oem rubber.

does the sawtooth on the strut plate also have to face towards the inside of the car? I heard that in another video

thanks, good job... takes the anxiety away of what to expect.... though i still dont like f'n with spring compressors.... The video is appreciated though.... I guess i will do this next weekend or so, but i just really dont see any reason to go away from the cheaper rubber after these went bad after 113,000 miles. Any other reason?

you got lucky if you got that much from the stock rubber mounts. Usually they go bad in less than half that. I didn't notice any harshness or increased vibration or anything with the better made mounts. VERY happy with them. I too am very cautious of spring compressors, you're not alone there buddy lol

I don't have any more G8 videos right now but she needs a lower control arm in the near future so I will probably make one for that. my phone ran out of storage here so I couldn't do a reinstallation portion but it truly is just a reverse of teardown. thanks!

My and i did this and i didnt know about the sawtooth/W mark and now its squeking bad could this be the problem and how can i fix this

very well could be. the sawtooth mark sets the correct spot for the range of motion of the setup

I would worry about getting a better floor jack first.
