Some thoughts on harmonic tremolo. It cannot be debated that the best examples of harmonic tremolo are the early 1960's Fender "brownface" amps. In my experience there are two types of harmonic tremolo, the trem on the bigger amps are more intense, squishier and can veer into univibe territory if you want. Maybe it's because of the bigger power tubes? The smaller amps like the Princeton I have are a more "normal" type tremolo but with that super special, extra something added to the mix. If there was a pedal that did both of those types pretty much exactly like brown Fenders I'd probably sell my Princeton and get that pedal tomorrow.

LOVED this episode! I didn't dive into the JHS channel until after I'd discovered you folks, so it's very cool to see those two worlds collide in such an entertaining way - from your perspective. I also may need to ratchet up my "it's gotta be under $50, ideally under $20" threshold for pedal wallet damage, because I really liked both of those JHS pedals and reverb and tremolo are by far my two favorite effects. I have been able to find a few in each category that fit my extreme frugality and sound good to me, but I'd really love to hear what the extra outlay of cash can get me, especially in the reverb category. As for the Klon, I think at this point it's become ridiculous, with many people convinced that because it's become insanely pricey it's gotta be great. I don't hear it. There's so little difference to my ears between the bazillions of distortion pedals... I mean, couldn't an EQ make any one of 'em sound like any other? I dunno... I like a little crunch as much as anyone else, but I'm never going to need what the market seems to care most about, which is a relentless onslaught of these things. Maybe when "classic rock" finally goes away and people my age finally give up on trying to sound like Jimi or Eddie or Yngvie or (insert hair band guitarist name here) we'll see other pedal categories begin to even things out a bit. There's more to guitar playing than imitating Led Zeppelin! There really is! Random recommendation: John Fahey. Huge influence for me, very weird but important acoustic guitarist. Some of the music y'all make reminds me of his stuff a little. Thanks for doing what you do, and sorry for the walls of text!

I have a bunch of overdrives which I used on my pedal board and I swore I would NEVER pay over $200 for one!! Well, I broke my promise!! I stack overdrives in a way that the cleanest one (Lovepedal's OD11) becomes my boards amp and started using Jetter's Gold which is very cool of what I like for a smooth sounding, creamy OD, but then I spent (and I'm not wealthy!) almost $400 on the King Tone " The Duellist" which has 2 OD's, the "String-Singer" which is Tube Screamer like that you can leave it on and it cleans up like a tube amp, and the "Heavy Hand" which is like a Marshall "Guvnor" (I like to say it with a "Monty Python" accent!! You can go from clean to a Godzilla crunch by blending these channels!! But the one thing I'm missing is a nice reverb which I'm thinking the JHS you suggested for my AC30 hardwired and thanks to my friend Emily (The Queen of Harps!!) I will be checking one out!!!! @@emilyharpist Thing is, that does not Happen too fast for me. I think. It was so sudden! Like: wait... why is she crying, what happened? !!!! She is sad because they have to leave now! Arrrg ! And its a 20h drive back! Nooooo thats sad, why am I crying now? .... This must have been an awesome visit. :) (Writing about emotions in a different language is a bit Tricky xD i hope something came across that made sense :)) Thank you for sharing yourselves and responding, too
