He's a superb player. His comp playing really shows his musicianship to me. I'm a guitar player (pretty limited - but what I do, I do well), so I have a lot of experience playing with others. I have to listen to him some more. The several times I've seen clips, he's been playing rhythm most of the time.

Love how their styles and sound are so different but mesh so well. Ariel has the quirky, innovative, almost exploratory playing, Kirk has a more classic, tasteful, soulful approach and Josh is just a machine. His vocabulary on the guitar reaches Stevie Ray Vaughan levels, just an endless well of awesome guitar phrases.

Man these guys are ridiculous!! If I had even a tenth of their talent I'd be happy. I love Kirk's feel, he really sings the blues with his playing and has some ridiculous chops. Josh is a master of the guitar, his playing has that jazzy inflection and his improvising flows so nicely, it flows right through him almost effortlessly. Ariel Posen is cool as fuck and his playing is super interesting, he really takes you to a place that you don't expect. WOW.

This jam is full of incredible moments. From simple splashes of beautiful tone to pure harmonic brilliance. One of my favorite moments is at 8:44. Josh Smith is definitely running away with the torch and I'm glad that he is!

I love these guys. What I love most about them is that they make a guitar sound like a GUITAR. I am not knocking gain, distortion, etc. I use distortion a lot. But when I hear this stuff, I cut it off (or way down)!

Josh is a master and what should be mainstream compared to many. Kirk is just a pure soul on the string, no lie on the delivery and what provoke beautiful emotions. And Ariel is just this change to the equation that makes everything magical, that person that brought what was needed.
