crazy rewatching this interview again today(was busy during work yesterday so didn’t really get a chance to watch how i wanted)…but it’s incredible to see how humble Smoove is during this pod..for someone who could out-ATHLETIC!!! damn there anyone in the world, to see how easy it was for him to talk about other players/folks from his history, shows you he doesn’t look at his journey as a solo mission! proud to have picked a good one to look up to as a youngin!! (also crazy to see the gray hairs on my boi)

J Smoove gets disrespected and forgotten because of how his career ended but 07-2011 he was one of the best defensive players the game has seen. Super versatile and an athletic beast. If the IQ on the offensive end was but better and he stuck to inside scoring instead of insisting on shooting long jumpers, he wouldve been an all time great imo. Cause at one point it looked like he was on his way. I remember keeping track of his record for being the young player to hit 100 stls and blocks, 500 stls and blks, 1000 stls and blks. Etc. I thought he was a future dpoy. Then his stint in Houston where he was really passing the ball really well and focusing on his role. I always said he could do what draymond did for gsw if he really focused because that’s the type of build he had. He got in his own way sometimes. Also think about it CP or deron ends up in Atlanta instead of Marvin Williams. That episode had a major impact on Josh the way those two helped David west, and Carlos boozer.
