Does Alan have younger siblings? During "Are you there, Moriarty?" that was some proper 'big brother' cheating. 😊

The moment where Josh realises Alan took his blindfold off; more or less tragic than the moment where he realised he counted beans, spaghetti hoops and rice for nothing on Taskmaster?

Apparently, Josh is indeed descended from Sabine Baring-Gould who was a fascinating chap, well worthy of mention on QI: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabine_Baring-Gould The author of "Abide with Me", however, was one Henry Francis Lyte: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Francis_Lyte Poignantly the very first time that hymn was sung in public was at his funeral, although it most likely used the tune he wrote for it (which has been described as "dull ;-) rather than the more famous tune that most people know today, "Eventide": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Eventide.ogg

@@archivist17 Ah, so Josh's family was kind of right, they just got the wrong song. I can just imagine this being passed down the generations in the Widdicombe family, like a game of "Chinese Whispers" (or "Telephone", as the Americans call it). And, like, every time they pass it on, they always forget the name of the hymn. "Yes, and he wrote... umm, I think it was Jerusalem" -> "he wrote... what was it again? I think it was Come on All Ye Faithful" -> "Yes, he wrote... Amazing Grace, I think it was" - > "Josh, I was told that he wrote... ah, it was one of those hymn things... yeah, it was Abide with Me, I reckon". In the year 3000, there'll be a future Widdicombe, who swears blind that Sabine Baring-Gould wrote, in fact, every hymn in existence. All of them. Single-handedly. But, unfortunately, by the year 3000, no-one even knows what a "hymn" even is anymore. But, whatever they were, Sabine Baring-Gould wrote all of them.

Sabine Baring-Gould was actually mentioned on QI series G episode 11. Apparently he was a children’s birthday party and said to a child “And who’s little girl are you?” and she burst into tears exclaiming “Yours daddy”.

I'd love it if there was a compilation of all the compilation clips that DON'T have some absolute twat complaining about the very comedian who the compilation clip was about, like somebody forced them to watch them, or something. Sadly, owing to the tragic lack of originality and utter predictability of said twats, it would be a VERY short compilation.
