I was captivated just by the first line, only then to find out that it gets better and better throughout the song. What a beautiful song that speaks right to the heart! Thank you for this wonderful music ❤️

The lyrics, the tune, your voice. Something about this song pulled me in. The first time hearing it and you. Couldn't get the tune out of my head. Took a bit of phrase searching, but I finally got it. A Town Beyond The Sky. I'll be looking for more of your work. Thanks you for the song.

I am following for many years now and it is may be my first comment (but it is never too late). I love your song (99% of the time) and specially your voice. You are a great musician. I wish you well. Good work. (English is not my native language, so sorry about the mistake).

This song hit me like a ton of bricks. I accidentally ran into a similar Chord progression while practicing guitar. Sounded familiar but I wasnt able to pinpoint if a similar song existed until today. Your version here is beyond what I could have created....your song is inspirational to say the least.

Lots of respect, love and best wishes!!

I never meant to say I love you I never meant to lead you on But sometimes pride can get the best of me And drag the rest of me along We leave behind the stains of battle We count the dead and grieve the loss A civil war without a victor I never really cared about the loss If there’s a town beyond the sky Where they greet you by and by I will stay down here and hide No, I will never meet you in the light I found the door that leads to nothing I crossed the threshold once or twice But there was nothing in the nothingness Not just the absence of light There was a whisper in the shadows There was writing on the wall And soon the curtains had been drawn apart I braced my body for the fall If there’s a town beyond the sky Where they greet you by and by I will stay down here and hide No, I will never meet you in the light Please forgive me if I’m broken It wasn’t you who lit the spark I’ve glued the pieces back together As many times as I’ve fallen apart If there’s a town beyond the sunrise I hope they let you through the door But me, I’m walking down the darker road At least I know what lies in store

Very much wondering where you got this melody. For me it is an obvious cover of "Mother Sky" by 森田童子 (Doji Morita). If yes, it could be nice to at least mention this beautiful japanese artist somewhere... On the other hand, I always suspected Doji Morita to have been inspired by "Plaisir d'amour" by Jean-Paul-Egide Martini to write her beautiful song... Cheers!

Pavel Venediktov I’m not much of an aficionado of Japanese artists tbh 😂 This one came from my head, but everything’s been done before, I suppose.

Hi Josh! You should try to publish your work on Steemit. It is a new social platform that may be very good to monetize your content. Your songs are great!!

I am confuse on the meaning of the song, is this about a person who is to afraid to love?
@joshwoodward8 жыл бұрын
I never look at my interpretation as being any more valid than anyone else's, but that's the core of it. The narrator is deeply broken in some way, accidentally letting him/herself get attached to someone much purer, knowing that it won't end well and trying to save them from the inevitable.
@NathanEllery8 жыл бұрын
Did I over interpret ? Did I read into it a statement of your atheism and belief of what happens after death? haha.
@XLsDiary8 жыл бұрын
Just noticed that I have content ID claims on my videos that use your songs as audio track. Each video lists your name, the title of the song and an URL to the source I used. I'm pretty sure that this originally hasn't been the case, but I don't know when it changed.
