While my husband and I were going through a rough patch I bawled my eyes out to this song. I used to blame my parents for not making things work. I used to blame them for not choosing to love eachother, but then experiencing my own rough patch in marriage I realized not everyone can continue to love when the person you love keeps hurting you. This song put it into words perfectly. (Btw my husband and I are fine and very happy now ☺️)

I became a fan of the musician Brandi Carlile over 12 years ago and kept trying to get people to listen to her, but now that she was nominated for six Grammy's and won 3 this past month... everybody's finally paying attention. Accidentally saw her live because she opened for eden and I didn’t know until I got there, had never heard her before and she made eye contact with me for the entire set to the point where people around me were asking if I knew her. There is a quiet and beautiful retro MAGIC in the singing of Sasha Sloan... She's worth listening to. And no, she is not a screaming rock ‘n’ roll artist, but if you listen closely to the words reminiscing about a little girl and what it was like to grow up and realizing life is not always made up of “perfect moments” there is a great “quiet” magic in this performance! If you listen to the words clearly and carefully, possibly it will bring you back to your youth and remembering things that you are still consciously or subconsciously processing- it’s a great song! I love how understated she is on stage-her ego seems to be totally at peace with being just who she is. Discovering new and talented singing artists is always a pleasure and a treasure!

Furthermore, I happen to love screaming rock 'n roll artists-whether it's Meatloaf, the incomparable Little Richie, or a host of other rock 'n roll singers who have blossomed beautifully in full high-volume regalia in that genre. However, Sasha Sloan is… as I said, is "quiet magic"-yes, a beautiful sense of something so powerful blossoming, but yet so hypnotically clear in her story.
