This is good one! Might be a slow burner, but will be useful for years to come.

Great video as always! Thank you for doing this for us! I wanted to share my observation and I think this is very important: the top handles come in different lengths and if it is short, then the camera tries to jump out of your hands. 13-15 cm is not suitable for people with large hands)) the smallrig has only one such long handle. Sorry I can't share pictures with you. But I have experience and that’s why I’m sharing it with you!

The cage also has a QD socket on the bottom for attaching something like a Magpul MS4 strap.I like that Smallrig has been adding this socket more and more to its cages. I also have it on the S5IIx cage. QD might not be as popular as the Peak Design attachments, but I prefer QD socket, it is a lot faster and feels more secure.

Die you guys see that one of the sundance docs this year is shot with BMPCC4k? Beautyful cinematography and really encouraging.

Excellent and very comprehensive video. I like that you take us through some different configurations, especially in regards to the rod mounting for a follow-focus. I have a Smallrig rod block and that is too much. The single rod dealie is perfect. I'm unhappy that I preordered this cage and see it on Amazon but I still haven't received mine. I'm leaving in a week on a job and am considering buying the Mid49 from B&H and just cancelling or selling off the Smallrig one. Love their products and prices but not cool to be selling these on Amazon after promising they would be out in June and leaving many of us waiting.

i have the smallrig cage for my 6kg2, and yeah it definitely has a bit of flex to it. but yeah this was a fantastic run down. i really need to pick up one of these FF versions of the 6k. I'm definitely a bit of an oddball (for loads of reasons) but i just really like this blackmagic form factor. I'm not super excited over their version of the box camera design. one of the reasons i like this form factor is that when i'm just out shooting, it looks like a "normal camera" so it doesn't get a lot of attention.

Great thorough presentation! Waiting on my smallrig cage to ship. I wasn't to happy with the Tilta version. Also is it normal that the CFexpress card heat up so much?

Amazing video thanks a lot for your help. I have one question about 13:59 you mean need only the plate for a tripod or something like 15mm LWS Baseplate. Also the monitor take power from the camera right ?

Thank you as always, Josh! I'm new to CFEx Type B - apart from the card, do I also need to buy a card reader? Is it feasible to transfer footage from the camera via USB (M1 Mac Mini)? Thanks again.

Is there a marker for the sensor location the cage? looks like it covers the marker on the camera.

I really wish BM would put in modern autofocus on their cameras. They are perfect for street videography but manual focus pulling is a chore and forces one to be their own first AC.

What I don’t get is that you get the SmallRig gear for free. However the company doesn’t have any influence on your video. If you create a negative video on the company, would they continue to send you free gear?? I think not
