Twist off lenses and accs are the right way. otherwise there wouldn't be a wrong way to do it!

Your new direction sounds like a very smart idea! I have the X-M5 on backorder and choose it because of Fuji Color and the very inexpensive price. I'm building up a basic cage/rig with some entry level lenses including a cinema lens from SLR magic. I am a tad worried about stabilization and focus going into this experience and so might, one day, add a mid/upper rang gimble that can handle the weight.

Thank you so much for the info, didn't know about this and the protocol is easy enough to understand and follow, but man to need to unplug a cable because it can damage a port, where technology is at nowadays, seems way dated.

Cameras are so great these days if it comes to image quality it almost does not matter which camera you buy. I own a gh7 and it has a stunning image. When i watch videos about sony, canon, blackmagic or any other brand i dont see much difference. They are all great.

People asked for a box camera. They got it in the PYXIS. Then they whine about a flip out screen? Does the Red Komodo have a flip out screen? The Sony Venice? The Alexa cameras? No,. So, it's really not an honest issue. I've seen tests where most rolling shutter issues are eliminated by the gyro data from the camera in post. Do you have footage that shows rolling shutter issues? And I would bet most audiences wouldn't recognize rolling shutter if they saw it. They certainly wouldn't call it out.

Great video as always Josh! One thing you can help me with since you seem to be expert in math haha -Canon R5C shooting in 4K UHD AF-XVC -Metabones EF to RF mount 0.71 Speedbooster -Sigma Art 18-35mm f/1.8 APS-C (for crop sensors) What happens to the actual focal range of this APS-C 18-35mm with the Speedbooster? What about with a regular pass through adapter? Any vignetting at these resolutions with either Speedbooster or passthrough adapter?
@Josh_SattinКүн бұрын
Thanks! I think you have it backwards. You usually used a speedbooster with a full frame lens on an APS-C sensor. You are using an APS-C lens on a full frame sensor. Please check out this video for a full explanation: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXaam36QppyJr6M

You can argue all day about many things. The BM image is not a starter. It's a thing. It's when you move past the image it's a discussion though. WHO doesn't want a beautiful image at a working mans budget?

I don't know any camera where you won't accidentally bump stuff if you are running it all naked. Put a handle and a cage on that dude..
@Josh_SattinКүн бұрын
I'm just speaking on my personal experience using the camera and I have tested a lot of cameras. When I was shooting the sample footage I had a top handle and side handle on the right side of the camera, but when I shoot handheld I often cradle the camera in my left hand while pulling focus. Usually buttons on the left side of cameras don't get pushed accidentally when I shoot this way, but with the PYXIS parts of my hand would interact with the screen and accidentally change settings. On a tripod or other situations this wouldn't matter so much. I apologize for not clarifying the exact situation I was using it in.
@BassDadКүн бұрын
@ I was just teasing you bro. You did make it sound like it was bucket naked but if you had handles on it then that’s what’s up. Great footage though don’t you think? Wish the lowlight was a little better. I don’t see switching from my S5IIx anytime soon for a Pyxis 🤷🏽♂️
@Josh_SattinКүн бұрын
Gotcha, yeah I just like to clarify. I think the PYXIS is a great camera. Everything takes some getting used to.
@agentofthewild684Күн бұрын
It looks like a great camera with a few weaknesses, just like every other camera. I would like to see an s5iix with an OLPF in a box body that doesn't have delayed output for BRAW. I think a camera like that would be undeniable, but as things look right now.....The Pyxis will be my next camera.

The riggable box-style body makes all the difference in the world of cinematography. I don't see ProRes as a big deal. Just take the BRAW into Fusion Studio and export it out in one of six ProRes options with the Saver node. It's easy to do. Your DaVinci Studio license works with Fusion Studio for free. The Pyxis monitor (not needing SDI) will make the Pyxis extra awesome!

great work again 😉 i have the 8sinn top and side plate, side plate is nice, but the top plate i don't recommend , the way the nato rail is build, makes it incompatible with some top handles or monitor mount like those from Nitze
