I just bought an old Canon EF 24-70 version 1 for filming podcast and I'm super happy with the results. I already had the RF 24-70 but I didn't want to spend the same kind of money again. Turns out, I save 2000$ for similar results.

As a Canon user I have to admit I'm really underwhelmed by the C80 performance. I don't know doesn't seem like it's worth the money. Thanks for putting this video together. I know how much time it takes to make something like this.

C70 is a great camera. Used it for years. But got to were I would just use my R5c more bc the imagine was just too soft for certain commercial work. And really wanted the full frame. Ordered the c80 and am excited to get a couple upgrades from the c70. I think they are both great camera but there are trade offs for both. Just depends on what’s more important to you.

Thanks! 11:47 couldn't be further from the truth actually. There is no such thing as an overkill lens on the R7 with the high demands of that 32mp sensor. It's quite the opposite. You dont want to cheap out and use budget or midrange lenses or the sensor will out-resolve it and give you underwhelming photos and videos. The higher end RF lenses are actually perfect for this sensor as many were designed with the 45mp R5 in mind. Would love to see an updated video with newer lenses, thanks!

Hey related to the question about the SmallRig camera fan. I bought one and tried it out with my R6 and it didn't make a difference at all. I ended up finding that using V90 cards (even though you don't need that speed for any of the codecs) actually prevented the R6 from overheating for close to an hour. (I had been using V60 cards with it previously.)

I know that my Nikon F mount lenses can be adapted to M mount, so can K-mount lenses. Would that make those even more adaptable than m-mount lenses? Would you say M-mount is more desirable because it of how thin the adapters are for mirrorless? I’ll still be purchasing vintage AI-S lenses since my film camera is a Nikon but I’m curious about this M-mount.

Leica R lenses have a classic, non-intrusive look. They’re well-balanced, not too modern, but not overly vintage either, which makes them versatile and suitable for any project. Leica R lenses never go out of style particularly the Walter Mandler designs.

Yes, that chromatic aberration really got to me. It reminded me of a Schneider 75mm Cine Lens I had. I used it twice before I had to get rid of it. Mechanically, it was perfect, compact, light, cine-style, well-sized, and well-priced, but the chromatic aberration made it unusable. I don’t need an apochromatic lens for every shot, but the chromatic aberration on this lens had me running...

That's the worst CA I've ever seen and I've shot lots of lenses over the years!
@V.aibhav_114 күн бұрын
Fr even some cheap options like 7artisan's CIne lenses don't have that much CA
@EinsteinRiesenfeld4 күн бұрын
@@levon-atkinson Under controlled lighting maybe the lens performs well. The problem arises when you need something flexible for shooting outdoors in different scenarios or client settings. In such cases, if the lens has too much chromatic aberration, it becomes challenging.
@levon-atkinson4 күн бұрын
@@EinsteinRiesenfeld Absolutely. I understand these are vintage style designs but it would seem that they aren't using any kind of coatings to control CA. That level of CA would mean outdoor shots with high contrast could prove problematic if not unusable. A bit disappointing to be honest.

HI there fantastic video. Question. I am setting up church live streaming. Would this unit with the mics pic up the hym music being broadcast through the church? I am trying to avoid confusing everything with a sound board. Any advise would be great. The hym speakers are at the back of the church where the live stream will be set up.
