Frank Gore's 66.4 Yards per Game places him ahead of many Hall of Fame Running Backs, including Jim Taylor, Larry Csonka, and Marcus Allen, as well as all three Hall of Fame RBs of the 49ers famed Million Dollar Backfield: Joe the Jet Perry, John Henry Johnson, and Hugh McElhenny.

Of the 14 NFL Running Backs to have scored 100 career Touchdowns, 11 are in the Hall of Fame. Adrian Peterson is yet to be eligible. Shaun Alexander scored 28 in a single season (2005) and is not recognized as a Hall of Fame candidate. And the only other RB with 100 TDs not yet enshrined is Frank Gore, who like Peterson is also not yet eligible.

Among the Top 10 rushers in NFL history, here’s how they rank by average yards per attempt: 4-Sanders (4.987 avg.) 5-Peterson (4.691) 9-Dickerson (4.426) 2-Payton (4.358) 10-Dorsett (4.339) 3-Gore (4.325) 7-Tomlinson (4.311) 1-Smith (4.163) 6-Martin (4.008) 8-Bettis (3.927) 16,000 yards is an incredible achievement (will we ever see 15,000 again?), and these numbers act in concert with that total: Gore was no compiler, he was one of the best to ever do it, averaging MORE yards per carry than LaDanian Tomlinson, Emmit Smith, Curtis Martin, and Jerome Bettis, all in the Top 10 All-Time, all in the Hall of Fame. Frank Gore outperformed Hall of Famers - not just any Hall of Famers, but Hall of Famers who were in the Top 10, ever.
@JoshBreakdowns Жыл бұрын
Throw in receiving yards and Frank Gore is even more Dominant. Rank by receiving yards: 7-Tomlinson 4,772 2-Payton 4,538 3-Gore 3,896 10-Dorsett 3,554 6-Martin 3,329 1-Smith 3,224 4-Sanders 2,921 5-Peterson 2,386 9-Dickerson 2,137 8-Bettis 1,449

When SF had nothing else we had Gore and he put a struggling franchise on his whole back until reinforcements could come. In my opinion the most atrocious SB play calling of all time was not giving him the ball on that last goal line series.

The first jersey I ever owned as a 10 year old 49er fan. #21 Frank Gore. 16k yards, SF all-time leading rusher. Put him in the Hall of Fame TODAY. My all-time favorite player, up there with Rice, Montana, and Young. Carried the Niners when nobody else would step up...played on some horrible teams and STILL found a way to get all those yards and TDs.

This one gave me that teary eyed nostalgic feeling. Especially seeing him do well for years after he left. It's a tragedy we didn't give him a shot after he got the 49ers to first and goal against the ravens. I think he gets it in there in every other universe and we have at least 6 rings in those too. What else can be said for Frank Gore? Just the principle of selfless actions and accolades speak for themselves. A ticket to the Hall of Fame. We have always had a running back in the backfield throughout the years but Frank gave the team and us fan consistent output for multiple years. In Madden 10, the added "protak", a feature where more than 3 players could be involved in a tackle (up to as many as 10). With a flick up of the right thumb stick, Frank could often squirm out of those piles for the huge runs we see in these highlights.

Considering the injuries he suffered at Miami, it is impressive for him to have such a long career. Favorite moment was when he broke off back to back 70+ yard runs for TDs. He was going off that year! 2:30 Not quite back to back, but he broke a record that was held by Barry Sanders.

It was a pleasure to watch Gore play. He was the offense the first 5 years of his career with SF. Teams would stack the box all game and he’d still get his yards. I think the craziest stat ever about him was that he didn’t lose more than 2 yards on a run for the first 6 or 7 years of his career.

Frank was the man, he was on a ton of god awful 49er teams and was clearly the only threat that defenses had to worry about and he would STILL produce. The best 49ers RB of all time. I was at that game when he ran wild against Seattle. They couldn’t stop him. The only thing he was missing was top end speed. But he was otherwise the complete package

Frank had some fumbling problems in 2006 & 2007 near the goal line... so Madden/EA gave him the "fumble prone" trait and a low carry ratting that they never revised all the way in Madden 14. I had to edit my roster to play Franchise mode just to do him justice.
