Hey Josh, Big fan from Tamilnadu, India. Watching this, I could recall a recent Incident happened in our region. When a place called 'Bodinayakkanur' in the Southernmost part of India was connected with the nearby City named Madurai (via Train), people were seen emotional, clapping their hands and welcoming the Train. The Place Bodinayakkanur and Theni District was left unconnected when Railways Department decided to stop the Metre gauge trains back in 2010. Since then, people had to rely on roads (which consumed lot of time and money) to reach nearby cities. I had seen people crying and embracing the Train, when Railways Department decided to introduce Train (Broad-Gauge) on this route. Yes, this is irrelevant to aviation. But let it be Train or an Aeroplane, these things connect people/region with endless possibilities.

A fantastic first flight for the A330 to Nuuk. I am very interested to see if they will eventually base the A338 from Nuuk, operating an early morning rotation to say CPH, with a later flight in the day flying to say London? Or whether they will add A320 neos and expand further. It will be interesting to see. Their nearby neighbours in the Faroes have made such a plan work with flights even to the USA. We shall see. Thanks so much for bringing us this amazing video Josh. I've been looking forward to this one for a while.

This was an amazing video Josh. Greenland opening up to tourism has it pluses and negatives. It's a small population Island of approx. 58,500 people. Can it sustain thousands of tourists or hundreds to be realistic for now. The infrastructure of this Island/Country will need to build bigger, but at what cost to the beauty of this place. This will be something for sure to keep an eye on seeing how Greenland develops and fits herself into a growing modern world.

It's a great moment for Greenland. What I don't understand is why they have a 2200m runway. They have a lot of land and could have gone for more. Thanks for the video, Josh.
@worldofriloh404Ай бұрын
If you look at a map over the airport it is clear that they dont have a lot of room to wiggle with. On top of that the weather around the airport is notoriously known for being very challenging to land in because of the mountains around the city.
@bardo0007Ай бұрын
@@worldofriloh404 I am sure they can land a 747 if they really want to build a big runway
@sebinamuwangaАй бұрын
@@worldofriloh404 Thanks but that is exactly the point. With all the land available, did they have to construct the airport in that region? The 2200m runway is okay for the 330 neo but may restrict the operations of other heavies.
@Mike-zx1kxАй бұрын
@@sebinamuwanga Please remember that the inland icesheet takes up most of the nation. Most of the coastline are mountainous. This runway were a piece of work in itself and not done "overnight". Maybe you have access to a map or can use flightradar24. Look at where airport are placed. . It had to be close to the capital itself so that people can get to it even if weather is harsh, so they do not strand at the airport for days because of bad weather. You can find video´s of the building of the runway here on YT. It have taken years even with a dedicated effort.
