In this installment, I get the bumper lights in, install the narrow wheel hexes, and rebuild the front suspension with a 3 link. Then I take it outside for a test run. Needless to say I am one happy camper!

The reason I got a TF2 was the shackles- if I wanted a crawler I would have ordered one instead/ sent y lip kits bac after watching this

Cool build performs great. But the scale looks are ruined without leaf strings. Imo the entire reason to get a tf2 is the leaf springs and how differently they handle lol. If you want 4 link why not just buy a scx10.2 instead? 😅

Josh the truck looks great!! The hex's are from rc4wd I think they come in the kit with the tf2, I know your not into lights but it would look sweet on your truck!! Btw linked suspension is overrated my leaf springs flex that much lol!!!

It's the Rc4wd mojave body. Very much the same body though. Parts are interchangeable.

RC Everyday I see, I have the rtr mojave 2 body but it doesn't have the side raised where you can put the side "Hilux 4wd" emblem. I just have a sticker there. But it would have been nice to have the raised side in the shape of the sticker to look more authentic. It seems Rc4wd doesn't sell that body anymore.

You are right, I forgot they came out with the revised mojave 2 body now. There are several differences in it from the old one. The last tamiya bruiser cab I bought a couple years ago did still have the raised emblem spots on the fenders.

RC Everyday yeah, they probably didn't want to have to pay licensing fees to Toyota. Still a great body though👍🏼

What size shocks did you use for the front and rear?

Its been a while but I think I was running the stock axial scx10 shocks on it until recently. They worked great for years but I finally upgraded to some proline powerstrokes.

Are those front shock mounts the stock ones or the D90 ones??? Looking to mount longer shocks upfront what do you suggest I do

+RC In Motion they are from the gelande 2. They bolt directly on and will give you what you need. I run 90mm shocks and my buddy has 100mm with them

hi, is the 3/4 link setup better (articulation) than the z-boxes and shackles setup?

It is the 3/4 link setup. I think it has better articulation than the shackles. Both options are expensive. Just a matter of preference.
