I’m so surprised you only have 68k subscribers because bro you do a really great job explaining the minimalist pick out in all your videos and honestly love all the products you get to promote on here. Thanks for helping me minimize the short term trips I make in tier 3 to village sized towns in India. Keep up the great content bro

So glad to hear the videos have helped! The channel is small but growing, hopefully the community here gets even bigger down the road!

Great, you've got your Winter 2023 travel essentials all figured out! Awesome on how you manage to fit everything in a backpack. From staying cozy to being prepared for any adventure, I'm sure your tips will be useful for all the fellow one-bag travelers out there.

For sure! Packing right now for a trip with temps nearing 100°F, such a crazy difference only a couple of months later

Used to be a digital semi-nomad pre-covid, now mostly work from home. One thing I would I always have are my xero shoes genesis sandals. Not fond of stepping on hotel or airbnb bathrooms barefoot, and like most everything xero the footprint is minimal.
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
Definitely a good thing to keep in mind! I actually have some xero z-trail’s that I really like, I thought about including them in the setup but felt like it was overkill/overpacking with having my hiking shoes also. Great thing to keep in mind and consider from an actual digital nomad, thanks for sharing with me and everyone here!

Anyone else notice the irony of him saying “I don’t have the funds to travel” as he goes through his $5000+ worth of travel gear and merino wool clothes? All that being said… nice kit!
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
I had mentioned I don’t have the time or schedule for a multi-month trip, not just funds for travel in general. I’m also lucky enough to have gotten a lot of free review items over the years to help fill out my kit. Glad you liked the setup though!

I would love to see a home tour video: since your studio looks so sleek and stylish. I like your decor and setting style a lot, it’s very me lol 😂. I live in the tropics so all those dark shades are very nice and soothing (too much sun here lol 😂)

My studio is definitely the nicest space in my apartment after redesigning last year! My wife gets a bit concerned with security/privacy around me filming the rest of our home though, maybe sometime in the future but probably not anytime soon.

bro I'm so stoked about this ... as a missionary telling people about Jesus I was looking for minimalist ideals this is perfect.

Couldn't help but zone in on your Filson Pioneer t-shirt. Excellent choice! I own several of them and they're incredibly comfortable and well made.

Thank you! Totally agree on the comfort and quality, it was a gift from my wife for my birthday this year.

Hi Josh, Ive been seeing your videos for quite a time and I like them a lot. I frequently use your suggestions in my trips. I'd like to suggest to you about your lighting studio, about the possibility of filming with the natural light also, that I can se coming from behind the beautiful plant (is it a ficus?) if I'm not mistaken. I think it would give you more lightness. Thank you for your attention.

I actually like the darker/cozier lighting setup I’ve got for now, but I appreciate the feedback and will definitely keep it in mind!

It’s been a while since I’ve traveled with my camera gear, but I actually just booked a trip to Austin soon and I’ll need to bring it with me. I’ll keep you posted!

Hey Josh, what would you say are the pros/cons of the Duer No Sweat Pants vs. Outlier Slim Dungarees?
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
They’re definitely different styles, these days I’m definitely preferring my duer pants. The SD’s are a much more technical fabric and feel and look a bit dressier, and the duer’s have a much softer and more casual feel and look. Comfort and stretch are priority one for me and duer wins hands down in my experience.

Videos are solid, quality is good, and you do a good job showing the products. But just watching 4 videos from the past two months it seems like not just a couple but most of the items are repeats from other pack videos, and I get it they’re useful and good products, but by the third one I just found myself skimming along, looking for the couple new things I haven’t seen in previous videos and kinda turned off interest. Even just looking at thumbnails I see so many of the same products, I do like the content and think you’re a very good creator and will check in front time to time, but just in my opinion the vast amount of repeat things stifle the ability to binge, just my two cents. Keep creating, and hoping for all the best community growth to you!

I totally understand where you’re coming from and appreciate the feedback. It’s a complicated situation on my end for a few reasons I can try and quickly explain. I’ll usually update and add things as I’m able to acquire and test them, swapping out entire setups would make me go broke and wouldn’t really give me time to properly test before speaking about things around here. Also, whenever I deviate from the few topics and video styles I’ve been creating lately almost no one watches, 5-10% of the views in comparison most of the time. Bad for channel performance but just not fun to create videos people don’t watch. Hopefully that adds some context, it’s something I’m hoping to expand and improve upon as the channel grows and I can afford it. Appreciate the feedback and support anyway though, it’ll help shape the future of the channel!

Super helpful video. But one piece of feedback: the mic placement was really rough. I was most interested in the dopp kit, but could not listen because of how loud the fabric movements were. Really appreciate you and love all the videos, just wanted to offer that :)

Thank you for the feedback on this! I totally agree, it was bothering me a lot while editing. Definitely a misstep on my part, I upgraded my audio setup late last year and am still learning a lot and trying to work out some kinks with a few things.

For natural deodorant skin irritation, it is almost always due to it containing baking soda. Brands make baking soda free versions for that specific reason bc it's a common problem. It makes all the difference. Just in case you're ever in the market to try again.
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
I’ve actually tried a few without baking soda after hearing this and still ran into some trouble. I appreciate the tip though, I’m sure I’ll end up trying a few more down the road.
