Such a great review! I can’t wait to order mine. I’m stuck between the 25 and 50L. They are such great designs :)

Both are great but quite different with the size and style. Hope you enjoy your pick when you make it!

I would love to know how many packing cubes fit in the 25L. Looking to replace an old duffle but don’t know size. I usually travel with three, large, medium and small plus aer dopp and wandr medium tech. Really want this to be my replacement since I think they’re Pakt One might be too big.
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
That’d probably all fit but I guess it’d be a bit snug. You might be better off with the Pakt one actually if your torn between the two!

Great overview! Do the attachment straps on the 50L work as any sort of compression? That might help to pass on the airport in Europe
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
Maybe a little, but they’re definitely not designed for compression like some other bags from my use experience.

Do you know if the 5l sling could fit a iPad Pro 11” w/ magic keyboard? & if so, does it feel well protected? Thnx
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
The iPad on its own fits, I don’t have a Smart Keyboard to test but if it’s the one that’s the same profile as the iPad it should fit with it okay. It’s a bit snug and not really protected since the bag is so soft. It’d probably work in a pinch but not the most ideal for iPad storage I’d say.

Hi Josh, I don't comment much but I love all your videos. You have such a calming presence. I just wanted to ask your honest honest opinion on the feel of these packs. I've only gotten the pakt backpack before and I was super unimpressed with the way the fabric and zippers felt. It just felt cheap to me compared to two other brands I'm extremely familiar and in love with, Tom Bihn and Evergoods. How do you feel like these packs feel compared to the Pakt backpack and Tom Bihn and Evergoods? Thanks so much! I'm eyeing the sling for now but loving the bigger duffel too. I think there's a design flaw in the tote where they should've padded the middle of the handles so passing on that for now.
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
First off, thanks for the support and its great to hear from you! I’m a pretty quiet viewer when I watch other channels so I totally get it. I haven’t personally tried any of the evergoods or Tom bihn bags so I can’t speak to a comparison there, but I can in comparison to the backpack. I personally like the material but it’s much more of a durable feel compared to more luxurious types of fabrics. If you didn’t like the material from the backpack though you might want to pass on these because it’s the same. I know they’re pretty dedicated to their recycled RPET fabric so I doubt they’ll change it anytime soon. Compared to the backpack though, I do think these has an overall more refined feel which I really enjoyed compared to the backpack. I tend to lean towards smaller bags but the 50L duffel is definitely huge if you’re unsure about the size and capacity. I think the lineup overall is really great if the capacity and carry styles match your needs, but if you didn’t like the fabric on the original backpack I’d hesitate to recommend them for you. Hope this helps!

Great that the sling fits a bottle. So this doesn't shit for check-in baggage, right?
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
Definitely more road/checked bag focused, but the sling and 25L would obviously work for carry on, and the Pakt team has been able to carry on the 50L a few times as a backpack even though it’s technically too big.

hey josh, will a 32oz highland peak bottle fit inside the 5l sling?? I need to know because i need a sling that can carry a big bottle and my ereader. its all i need it for. the 25l duffel looks tasty af too.
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have that exact bottle, but a 32oz hydro flask (similar size I think) fits okay. Not the most ideal/best for for that sling bottle combo but it’d work in a pinch.
@GabeLagmay3 жыл бұрын
I really like the 50l design even though it’s lot more capacity then I personally need , the middle sized one is my favorite would love to see their original duffel in that smaller capacity!

Agreed! I think the new 25L will be a great new option compared to the original Pakt one. Love the new size and the water bottle compartments, it’s a bit different without the split design in the 25L but has been great and functional for me so far.

Working for the Fire Department, that 50L bag would be a perfect "duty bag" for bouncing between stations........

The side water bottle pockets looked really loose like your water bottle could fall out. Do they cinch tight?
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
That's actually going to be updated! They mentioned that our units had water bottle pockets that were a bit too loose but they'll be changed out to tighten more for the final production.

Hi Josh, great video, keep up the great work! Also, thanks for the response to @RollingStone, certainly appreciate the sentiment. Curious, would an 11” iPad fit in the sling?
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
It fits, but not super comfortably. If you plan on daily carrying your iPad it might be a bit too tight but it’s definitely comfortable enough for occasional storage or to toss it in for a flight. Sorry for the delay on this!

@@joshfenn Hi Josh, thanks so much for all of the quality content and answering our questions! Most of the other reviews I’ve seen say that this sling won’t fit a larger tablet like the iPad Pro 11 inch and that is my main hesitation in purchasing this bag so I was hoping you could define “not super comfortably” further if you have time. Pakt is not giving very clear messaging about this either.

Not sure how I feel about this kind of content anymore. It’s a big ad. I’m a fan of the Pakt travel line, but companies sending free stuff (and sponsorships) for youtubers to “review” is getting tiring. I guess everyone has to make a living, but the pretence that this is everything the reviewer ever wanted is disingenuous.
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
I understand where you’re coming from, and apologize if I didn’t make the ethics clear enough for the video. This is definitely not a review, but an overview/impression of the new lineup. I always try to make it clear when sponsorships are involved (not stating it is a review, disclosing the partnership multiple times through the video) I don’t do these types of sponsored videos often, only when I feel like they will benefit all parties involved. I truly love what Pakt tries to do as a company as well as their products so I don’t have any guilt for making a video like this but I can always do a more thorough job with my disclosures. My thoughts are always my own and I’ve turned down thousands of dollars worth of sponsorship money over the past few years because it wasn’t ethical and wouldn’t be best for all of you watching. I hope this brings some understanding, I totally understand if you skip to a different video if this type of content isn’t your thing. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this, I believe it’s a good discussion to have!
