I have had people say that there are other male singers with better voices and singing ability. I have diligently listened to each but every one pales in comparison to Groban. People don't realize how much their words can change a person's day. So many of us walk around with smiles on the surface when on the inside it is pain that we wish someone could see. I spent so many years of my life hiding behind smiles and clothes while no one could see the cuts all over my arms and the toll the anorexia was taking on my body. I recovered because of the man who is now my husband seeing through it all, and now at twenty eight I battle an illness that will probably take me away from my family way sooner than I would like, and I am blessed to have a few people in my life who see me and help me come out of hiding when things get tough.

I remember hearing this and instantly it was one of my favorite songs by Josh Groban. I was in my office one night playing music and my late wife was in the other room and I yelled to her when I die dont you keep your heart hidden away. She yelled back it is not me that needs to worry about that it's you, since you don't open your heart to very many people. She would pass away suddenly a few months later. In the last 5 years I can count the number of times on one hand I have listened to ANYTHING by John Groban. She was a huge Josh Groban fan and listened to him all the time so it still is hard for me. At one of the concerts we went to he actually grabbed her hand in the audience and she completely started crying tears of joy. I know he will never read this or hear the story but that simple gesture made her so happy.

I've just realized that I can't find a single Josh Groban song that I don't like. I honestly don't think it matters to me what the lyrics are, or what the story is behind the song. (Which is usually something that I am drawn to with music from most artists) But with Josh, it is simply his voice that draws me in. Absolutely! I have been battling with depression and anxiety for the last 15 years ( at least ) and I found his first concert on line and was hooked. He has helped me through some very tough times and he still brings tears to my eyes with his very meaningful lyrics and beautiful music. I listened to this song like a billion times last week in the hospital when the surgeon said they wanted to send me to another state for my transplant evaluation which we thought we had years before. I'm only twenty seven with a two year old who needs me. Listening to Mr. Groban always helps me calm down when I'm getting bad news and calms me down when I'm running awful IV meds that make me feel very sad. It is nice to have great music to listen to with a true talent performing.

I just sent this to a student I mentor in Japan This wonderful & gifted girl who has been through terrible challenges. Struck by a truck on her way to school. I felt it in my sleep. I mailed her in class & urged the school to rush her to a hospital & she slipped into a long coma. Months later her father was in a coma for weeks. I urged her to go in her traditional costume & dance for him. Holding his head in her hands he woke up & cried. Now her mother collapsed from all this stress
