even on my newest gen Intel Core i9 with 36 GB of ram and an RTX 3070ti GPU....Noise reduction im at like 12 fps once its on. Noise reduction is just super heavy on any PC no matter the specs

The m1 chip mother board is a lot smaller, the heat sink , fans etc are a lot smaller. So there’s loads of UNUSED SPACE inside the Mac mini m1 case compared to the Mac mini intel. Leaves plenty of options for someone with the know how to MODIFY UP ONE OF THESE inside the case. Like adding this thunderbolt hub inside the case some how with a modified slot in the case. JUST A THOUGHT 💭

It hiccups because the the swap file maxes out at 2 gigs. So it take s a sec to catch up. Hopefully the next M1x processor along with more ram will improve performance during heavy loads. Most creators on YT have reported similar issues.

Hi I'm interested in buying the mac mini m1, but my question is: I have a camera blackmagic pocket 4k and I shoot in braw and prores, does the mac mini not lose quality in rendering the final product? I've heard that the rendering time is good, but the quality is not so good. What is your opinion of the rendering? And to chose 8gb ram or 16gbram? And storage 260gb or 512gb? Could you do some tests using Noise Reduction? There aren't really any KZbinrs covering it all that much.

Agreed! I’ve been asking this since the M1’s release, but sadly it seems there are not many seasoned Resolve users out there performing these tests.

@@FCPWHAT After doing a test on mine, I set the noise reduction to 3 frames and 40 on the scale (which is aggressive). It's choppy on full resolution (4k), half resolution is slightly better but still choppy, and quarter resolution it plays back with no problem.

Don't get how adding BRAW to the timeline as a stress test of all the codecs you could have chosen. What about some 422 10bit long GOP H264 common and extremely difficult for most computers to even playback. For most of us, we'd be transcoding that stuff. BRAW on the other hand will play on almost everything. Bad choice.

Thanks for the video! do you think the m1 mac mini can handle 8 camera multicam 4k projects with 10bit h.264 gh5 footage on davinci resolve? my macbook pro 15" struggles after 5 cameras even when played at 1/4 resolution on a 1080p timeline.

Great video,- thanks. Verry usefull for me. You made a great test of things. A note though;- I find it strange to see, that your screen is setup wrong. When you show you system overview in the start of the video, the circle is not circular, but stretched...... as a filmmaker and editor this should not happen. And for my taste your sound of your voice is far to bass boomie. Ad a HPF at 200 and lower your bass. And to have to listne to the same 8 bar loop for almost 9 minutes is killing me. Cut the music. Please.

Rendering is cpu, fusion is very ram and gpu heavy, you did no fusion test, why?. The included graphic card is shit in the mini so i wont buy it
