Hey Josh, I'm really curious about something and excuse me if you answered it before. If you do a second (or third etc) IT degree at WGU, (where there are a lot of the same classes) do you only do the classes you haven't done yet, or do you need to test for everything again? Thanks!
@Jigm22
@Jigm22 Жыл бұрын
To do another degree at WGU you'll likely have to apply again, and one of the first steps post application is a credit evalulation from other sources (other degrees or online courses usually). So if there are courses that transfer over those would be accounted for in that step, you wouldn't need to retest for PenTest+ as an example (if you were going for the masters in cyber).

Yeah I'd agree with Josh, the degree will teach you a lot of theory and will open more doors for you (from an applicant tracking system standpoint). However, your expectation should be finish school, start applying, and work on a project while applying. Or you can work on your project first, finish that up (quickly), then apply. Just depends on your personal situation. I will say in my opinion I feel like there are more entry level cloud computing roles than entry level cybersecurity roles, and you can pivot into cybersecurity from cloud work.
