I landed an IT Support offer with only my Google IT Support cert and I finished it in May. Think I'm going to take this course to be able to have even more to put on my resume and be able to receive more offers (with better pay)

It’s great to see that people are able to land jobs! It just shows that whatever Josh has put out works! I can say that as well as I landed a role as well from his IT course. Great vid Josh!

I’m super pumped to be signing up for the course this week, I’m already in the field as an IT Support Professional but I think acquiring my WGU bachelors in IT and this as initial experience with Cybersecurity will take it to the next level 💪🏼

Never EVER believe an employer when they say they'll give you a raise after "you do a good job" it doesn't work regardless how good you do.
@JoshMadakor Жыл бұрын
Gotta force them to do it with an offer letter from elsewhere, but at that point, it's better to just dip a lot of the time

@@JoshMadakor 100%. I hate hearing about this happening to people who transition from protected jobs like law enforcement. Consistent raises aren't a thing in tech, you have to negotiate up and always get everything in writing.

Hi Josh, Tyler's experience sounds incredible! Best wishes to him :) I'm working on the Google IT after starting the Google Cyber certificate first a few weeks ago. I got stuck on Google then started your IT/CourseCareers Digital Marketing. After watching your networking portion, I got the confidence to return to Google to try to finish that up. I also learned to code a bit last year. Just trying to see where it all takes me. All this to say, I was initially pretty pumped to buy your course and learn cybersecurity. Then I watched your video where you made that career sound like a drag, haha! Now, I'm on the fence about it ;)

Lmao, don't let me stop you, I tend to complain more than average and it really highly depends on the industry you end up working in as well as the security domain, haha. Thanks for the support though, sounds like you're learning a lot :)

I've been a stay-at-home mom for the past 4 years but I'm back ready to try to get a career in tech. I was gonna attend WGU but I would like a more hands-on approach. Would you recommend your IT Course or WGU?
@JoshMadakor Жыл бұрын
I would definitely recommend fully embracing the CourseCareers IT course. Like, really go hard on it and get a job first. Then if you don't already have a bachelor's degree, I would consider going to WGU and leisurely working on the BS while working your IT job at the same time. This is exponentially more valuable in terms of opportunity cost (gets you working, getting experience, and earning money more quickly) Hope this helps.

Hi Josh, I've been watching your videos for a while and really enjoy them. I'm in a rather unique spot in my career and feel like I am stuck in a rut and would like some advice if possible. I have currently 4 years of help desk experience. During that time, I did level 1 support and also some level 2 type stuff including Azure, managing AD, working with phones, MFA, managing emails, PowerShell, working with VDIs, printer support etc. I've dabbled in a lot but have no expertise in any one area. I also did not obtain any certs during that time and have no bachelors, just some time in a 4 year university working towards a comp sci degree. I just left an MSP due to health issues and am trying to get back into the job market, but it feels like all I can get are level 1 rolls still despite having 4 years of experience. My question basically is, what's your advice to quickly get to the next level? I assume its getting some certs, but I'm not sure what would be the best certs to get. CompTIA A+ seems like a step backward given my work experience, maybe AZ-104? I am trying to move off the help desk ASAP and find the lack of a bachelors is holding me back. If you read this I appreciate your time, and even if you don't, your channel is amazing and what you're doing is incredible ! Good luck.

Is the boot camp compatible with using a Chromebook or tablet 🤷🏾♂️
@JoshMadakor Жыл бұрын
You can do most of the course on those, but you need to be able to use remote desktop to connect to virtual machines. Not sure how to do that with a chromebook off the top of my head :)

@joshMadakor Hi Josh, can you do a Python course for beginners geared towards automation/cybersecurity? I have programming knowledge, but you do a great job at simplifying topics and practical projects to students show proof of their ability.

How much are Cyber Security roles in danger of being automated and replaced by AI? I'm especially interested in the Blue team ones.
@BlueGuardianSec Жыл бұрын
David Bombal has done a good deal of research on this issue. Great resource to compliment Josh’s direct advice.
@JoshMadakor Жыл бұрын
Cyber evolves quite a bit, but a lot of super simple stuff will be automated away whenever possible, but there will still be a need for humans. MOST of cyber is blue, and it’s not only technically complex, but requires a lot of strategy and soft skill which is going to be hard to automate away for a while

@@matt_milack Here's the gist of what CISCO says: AI will change the playing field but it will not delete jobs. CISCO is creating new AIO platforms that run on ML but will still require technicians to operate. As a tech, you will need to better understand how to prompt the AI, and you will need a knowledge base from which to pull information. It's a very deep discussion and a few hours isn't enough time to answer that question; many brilliant people disagree on this subject, but if you're able to learn effectively, there will always be a place to go.
