Great vid Josh. Which of your courses would you recommend for someone breaking into cloud? IT one or cyber one? For context - I have no IT experience, a non - technical degree and corporate experience in project management. This is a career transition. I’m also currently on a cloud bootcamp but feel like I’ll need more hands on knowledge that your courses seem to provide. Thanks in advance

Either gain a lot of exp to jump over to security roles ( your degree is a foundation, but it’s not a guarantee to a security job with no exp) OR, start at help desk then job hop higher tier roles (sys admin, net admin, etc..) then find a SOC/Security analyst role. Either course should be OK. Since you’re in security try his security course. I think a help desk job would take you with either course. But your degree is much more valuable.

Josh, I have been asking this question for months already, I'm not a US Citizen, does it make sence for me to take your course? Note: I'm looking to work remotley with US companies, is this something Acheivable by taking your course? Pls answer.

I would say no

I would say no, too. While the course may help you get the skills that you need for an IT job, most American companies requiere you to be elegible to work in the US even if the job is remote. (If you are a legal resident this may be acceptable.) However, there are a few companies that hire for remote positions and don't require you to be an American citizen. Most companies tell you in the description from where you want you to be.

@bazimyan

Getting a good job in this market is not easy. WGU is more of a "check the box" degree for people with more experience. You should pursue the state university degree just because you're at a point in your life where you don't need much responsibilities besides school, so going to a state school will give you both networking with future colleagues/bosses if you need a job, as well as access to research opportunities and building relationships with professors in case you want to get a graduate degree. WGU can't give you any of that. Years from now you'll always have the opportunity to do WGU but you won't have the opportunity to just go to an in-person university like you do now without a huge opportunity cost.
