That is exactly what my wife and I are doing in October, we have a cabin booked on a group charter in the Cyclades. I've sailed most of my life but never got the qualifications, so this is the taster for my wife... We can't wait!!! Great vid and top channel Josh.

I’ve been to paros…smaller island nearby …ante paros…less tourism… I remember how high the sodium levels were in the sea…your body could float like an air mattress… Met a local fisherman who had a heavy wooden skiff that we paddled out a few miles and put out his long net….all of that work for a few small red type of fish…he called them snapper , but not what it appeared to me..found a small shallow cove with bottom covered in sea urchin … Rented the neatest beachfront house with rooftop deck with trellis covered with grape vines…great memories!

On the question of charter or buy a yacht in the Mediterranean I have been skippering charter yachts in the Greek Islands for over 20 years and have considered buying our own yacht but in the end changing political and the Covid pandemic, we choose to buy a life style block in NZ and continue chartering in the Greek Islands, personal choice.I do however own my own 42 yacht in NZ with 40 years sailing experience, would agree that getting your own group together and charter rather than buy a yacht, with a lot of hidden costs.

I'm in my 60s now but I got caught by every economy collapse recession pandemic and I had a ton of time on my hands trying to find another job. What a shame I didn't find the sailing community until now. Now I feel like I wasted all those years when I was younger and had more stamina and better health. I was poor back then too but I think I could have done it. Too bad I didn't.
