I think we can all agree that Josh is the absolute master of the drum cover for any song we ask him to do
@giuliano80314 жыл бұрын
Shane Stewart Because his snare sounds better? Sound is not everything, the performance counts, the cymbal technique of him will be better I can tell without watching the Video you think is better, because he does really good cymbal work, and no, bashing cymbal isn't good cymbal work, you should play it with finesse line Josh does it. This 12 year old probably also has like the most young cover boys and girls parents with too much money. Josh put work into this, recording it, mixing it, syncing it with the video etc. which your 12 year old girl didn't do any of that. If you think the sound matters then show me your 10k drum set with a set of mics worth 3k. Learn how to record, record it, mix it, sync it up with the video, all by your own and show me that you're better.

Change the drumming style and you change Metallica. Some of the drumming sound alike but it fits the band's playing style. If only he plays it all the time like how he's recorded them, like how the rest of the band play their piece like how it was on the album.

What I find fascinating with the way Lars played the kick-kick-snare beats on the studio album (starting here at 5:15) is that he played them _much_ faster/tighter than Josh does here. Lars' double kicks sound almost like a single kick. Getting them as tight and consistent as he did back in those days... Well, let's just say Lars used to be a pretty decent drummer. In the studio, at least.

Don't want to hate on the comment section, but as any true musician will tell you, playing like a virtuoso doesn't mean you're a great musician. Composition is key, and, hands down, Lars composition and details are awesome. Don't get confused between PERFORMERS and MUSICIANS.

I think that this song is pretty much one of Lars best drumming he's done. It sounds really good with the music, like the verse riffs. A drummer doesn't need to go technical, just has to make it work it work with the music as needed, and for 'One', he pretty much nailed it, in my opinion.

Binit Lamichhane What a dumb comment. I’m a real musician. I know the names of all drum parts. I know the names of all guitar parts. I know every song in Metallica’s catalogue. I know how to play probably 75% of their catalogue on guitar. The other 25% I just haven’t learned yet. I can bullshit my way through every Metallica song on drums, probably except Dyer’s Eve, because my legs get tired. Metallica is one of my favorite bands of all time. Metallica can probably take full credit for influencing me to pick up the guitar, drums, etc. Every time I pick up an instrument, I end up playing Metallica for about 20 minutes just to jam and have fun, and because I love them. Every time I BS a guitar solo over a backing track, you can tell that I’ve listened to thousands of hours of Metallica during my life, because I can’t break out of the influence they’ve had on me. All that, and I STILL think Lars Ulrich SUCKS.

Why do metal drummers always use a double pedal? I could play the whole song except for the part that starts at 3:59 with a single pedal

Erik Andersen if you see Lars live play this song is awful, im a huge fan of Metallica but their are getting old, the only reason why they did concerts are for the money, Lars can't play this song fully correct, all the song are Lars triying to make them sound good when the reality is that some songs sound terrible with all these fills, Metallica fans need to star getting in mind than Metallica its no going to last another 10 or 15 years.

Andrey Rodriguez He is one of the creator of this masterpiece. Do not forget that. It is harder to create than to play
