I totally agreed and align with you on points with regards to the 1M category. And I am interested to know how do you know, you are hiring the right team to manage your assets ? I not surprised a lot of millionaires in Singapore, are not millionaire in terms of liquidity or financial mobility, if one include their 99 years leasehold property into their millions. In my point of view, these 99 years leasehold properties is more of an liability than assets , where one only purchase their ego, sold by housing agent. Unless the properties, provide a cashflow with better yield than average return.

Hi Josh, i guess it will be good to share how much the pot of savings should have then invest in stocks/REITS to save on transaction and management fee for people that want to start on investment. i.e for me, i generally saves for 6-12 months then invest the amount at 1 go although i know of some people just putting aside 100-200 dollars every month on ETF/stashaway.
@joshconsultancy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Zhenxin, I feel 6-12months of income is generally conservative. Also like dollar cost averaging method of getting invested as more of a "I can't predict the markets attitude'. Hope it helps and SMASH THE LIKE button!

Hi Josh, just a quick question. When we speak of 100k by 30, how do people normally define this? Is it in terms of net worth (cash, assets, RSPs, CPF etc, less liabilities) , or just straight up 100k in a fully liquid bank account and ignoring all others? What would you suggest as a fair measure?
@joshconsultancy4 жыл бұрын
Hi KHORBSter, I personally define it as assets ex CPF (cash, investments, endowments, deposits, net property)? There is no need to have 100k sitting in the bank account unnecessarily haha

I'm 24 years old with a $12 000 investment portfolio and earning around 1500SGD/month from my side business while studying in university(I'll graduate in 2 years), I spend around $1000 while investing $500 into my portfolio monthly. My biggest regret was not saving and investing money when I was around 16-18 years old, but living the YOLO lifestyle and squandering away all my money instead which has ruined the potential for my financials a lot.
@joshconsultancy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chilly, welcome to the family! Fantastic - "earning around 1500SGD/month from my side business" - It is a lot of work. I remember working as a part time adviser in my uni days and IT WAS HARD. So I know you must have a strong drive to do so. Can hear abit more on your story?
@chilly21714 жыл бұрын
@@joshconsultancy Sorry, to be exact, I earn around $800-1000 a month from my side business. The other $500 to $600 is from my parent's allowance. Another income source is grabhitch, but I don't really really earn much from that, maybe around $50 to maximum $150 a month. I prefer not to share what my business is about, but it is software/IT related, and currently, it's only consuming around 3-4 hours a week, but it's not scalable, meaning if I spend more time on it, doesn't mean I'll earn more. So, currently, the amount of time I spent on it is still okay. But yea, Uni is a crazy amount of work, I can see how anyone who's doing part time work/side hustling would be struggling. I only wished I started saving/investing in my 16-18s.
