Mr. Turner I know this comment may never find you but if it does I just wanted to tell you how thankful I am that you have let God use you as you have. I lost my 17 year old son Landen last Saturday. Over the past couple years he has gotten really close to the Lord. Especially the last couple months. It was a vehicle accident so he had no way of knowing that it was his time to go. This was the last song he listened to on Apple music and one of the last songs if not the last he ever listened to. You could never imagine how much peace that brings me. Knowing he was ready and longing to go be with the Lord. Thank you Mr. Turner for being part of that.

Josh has a great voice & this is a very good cover. Grew up going to an all-black baptist church w/ my family & we used to sing this song all the time. Its interesting to hear ppl outside of our community sing it. I always thought it was kinda grim, due to the theme & slavery origins, but its nice to hear it arraigned in a more joyful melody.
