Jesus is not made for everyone even though the Bible says that. Its not what most people think it is and what Christians claim it to be. Peter writes its better to have not known Him than to know Him and turn away. So just keep what you have if you cannot make the full commitment or you will lose your life like Saul did when He turned back. Most Christians think that Christ is everyone's quick fix. But that's not true....first of all its not you that accept Christ into your life. That is very much a lie. You must be called and chosen by Him. That's what must transpire first. He must call you to repentance, as He did all His disciples that He chose...they did not choose Him. He chose them. He called them to repentance. But modern Christianity is brained washed at church to repeat what their pastors and preachers say....and chase after them filling their pockets full of ready cash. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing because they will fleece their flocks. Jesus is a very peculiar representation of God's Holy Spirit. He is beyond what men say. And turning to Him after you've been called. Takes far more than what Christianity teaches in their churches. Because they teach a gospel that's watered down by man's idea's rather than God's ideas by way of His Spirit in Christ. This is a lesson that many cannot understand. Being Baptized into the Holy Ghost is more than just a ritual at church. It's beyond the true comprehension of most church goers. That's why they attempt to lean on their pastors rather than on Christ. They are subdued with principle and error. A brain washing and sorcerer of things both truth and untrue. The Truth from the Bible, but untrue through their own ideas and philosophies of human origin. Example: If you are attending a church where the pastor or preacher says" this is what I think scripture is trying to tell us ". You need to leave that church and that ministry. Because God is not in that person or that teaching. " I think " is a very wrong approach to adhering to the mind of Christ which is received through the Holy Spirit from on high. Most pastors and preachers miss what Jesus said when he described God. He said " God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth...FOR GOD SEEKETH SUCH TO WORSHIP HIM.....you cannot worship God without Him seeking you first to do it. You must be called, chosen and faithful. So let me reiterate what I said, Christ is not as easy as those who claim to know Him make Him out to be. Because through simplicity that is in Christ, they have erred from the faith by making examples of themselves rather than giving the Truth of God in Christ His priority to choose you. He is the Teacher...not men. As Peter wrote....its better to not have known him than to have known him and turn away........King Saul that is mentioned by Robert Gonzales was one of those people.....he too chose to listen to men rather than God and he turned back from following the Most High King. That proved fatal for him. Many Christians fail miserably because they will not adhere to " every word that has proceeded out of the mouth of God ". They use scripture piece by piece, here a little and there a little.....but refusing consciously to adhere to it as a whole. Leaving out crucial aspects that actually joins them to God in Christ, and Peter, and Paul, and James and John and every word spoken through them by Christ and His Holy Spirit within them. If you cannot be called to Christ do not attempt to be changed or you will fail.....Because no man can come unto the Father but by Christ....and He must call you.....

In the late 1990's there was a corner in Winslow, AZ with a statue of a man under a sign that reads, "Standin' on the corner" just beside a building with a mural painted as a reflection of a flat-bed Ford pickup driven by a woman slowing down to look. My then girlfriend and I took a picture there as we drove through, and a Winslow citizen even stopped by and asked to take our picture! I love to think that it's still there.

Oh no… an hour ago, I’d never heard of Josh Turner or this band, now I feel I’m above to dive headlong down a Josh Turner Rabbit hole! I got here via Nerina Pallot (my favourite female artist). Then watched an interview of her by Mary Spender (I’d never heard of her before). Then watched Mary Spender and Josh Turner doing a cover of Dire Straits’ Sultans Of Swing, then watched Josh Turner and a couple of other ladies (none of whom I’d ever heard of) do an absolutely phenomenal cover of Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain. I’m old fashioned and still prefer to listen to listen to full albums offline on physical formats but every once in a while, I’ve got to concede that the likes of KZbin can send you on an unexpected Easter Egg hunt, unearthing ‘new’ artists that can really enrich your life with their gifts and talents. Great stuff!

Summer of 1972 - Summer before my sophomore year. My friend (who is a year older and has her driver's license) and I are driving around Nashville with the windows down and this song playing on the radio, turned up LOUD! Singing our little hearts out, we were. We were shopping for some back to school things but really, the most fun was checking out the guys in their muscle cars - my boyfriend drove a 1972 Nova SS and it was BEAUTIFUL :) What a time of life it was! We were much more innocent of the world. No cell phones; just phone booths. No seat belt laws...most all of us would know someone that had died in a wreck from being thrown out of the vehicle by the time we graduated. We still went on "dates" where the guy paid for everything. We still went "steady"...we still wore their letter jacket or graduation ring with tape wound over the back so it wouldn't fall off our finger. Boys got into fights but it was with fists...no knives or guns pulled out. And to call the police and charge them with assault? Never! It was a matter of pride. Boone's Farm was our Saturday night liquor of choice....maybe the guys would have some beers (all bought by older siblings or cousins :)) Yes, we smoked a little weed but it was NOT the stuff of today. You 😘😘 could smoke a whole joint, tear up the local dairy bar, and still drive home. AND, we were good kids...our parents were raised in the Depression era so they were generous with us but we were still raised with those Depression-era values. A lot has changed since then. Why am I writing this? These two young men embodied what the Eagles were then, not the corporation they are today. Their bright, clear voices herald a time when music was everything. It accompanied our lives like a glorious arrangement and to this day, for example, I hear this song by these two young men and I am taken back to the day in time of summer 1972, Tremendous job, guys. Thank you for keeping the vintage songs alive (can't believe it's been 50 yrs). New sub here and I have been listening to your channel all weekend 😘🥰💕

You and I are the same age, and you've perfectly nailed a description of what my life in small town Oregon was like at the same time (I come from a guy's perspective, but everything else was the same). Everything else resonates in your writing, but I think the most important thing is the innate purity of Josh’s covers, he is the ONLY guitarist/singer/arranger who with his carefully chosen friends is taking this wonderful music through this generation and beyond! Keep up the good work guys! There was a group of guys I went to high school with and their band was named "The Kicks". They were from the class of 1968 while I graduated in 69. Friday nights after the football games - we all paid our .50 cent stag or 1.00 drag fee to hear the Kicks till midnight. It was a time of magic. Please believe me. The band had been playing for maybe 5 years - Drums, Lead Guitar, Keyboard and bass. Like all good things graduation came and we all scattered. The magic is these guys kept playing. Years rolled by and our reunions became Gatherings - No particular class but if you're in the area, we will get together and from all over and as far away as Las Vegas - The KICKS played for us. It was magic 20, 30, 40 and finally 50 year reunions and gatherings, this group would play for us! We lost the bass player and let me just say that all his life - he was a true musician. Any thing he picked up,, he could play. You can't buy that anywhere. We had a reunion/gathering at a kind of exclusive part of a Florida community - closed gate and all that. We had half of a building for the band and us "Older" folks. Didn't last - People heard the music from outside and came and listened to some great rock-n-roll music from the 60's and 70's. Questions..."Who are they"? Where do they play?? we all laughed and said well - you have to back a long way .....over 50 years and that's the truth. Play your music and enjoy it. I have to say - I love the old songs. In school the band shut down every football dance with "Wait till the midnight hour". I was there guys and I have these memories that only musicians can give. Sorry for the book I wrote.

I thought I should just add to the comments that this is actually a Jackson Browne song that Glenn Frey helped with. Jackson's version is pretty great too. Rock on guys!

what i like about you guys is you have your own voice, you don't try to sound like anyone else. it's a very unique and very good voice.

These two need to form an official duo and start writing songs. I wrote this first sentence before seeing the end of the video😂. Their sound is so good. If they can write decent songs they can become a big hit.

Perfect blending of voices and music. You two make the perfect musical duo. My favorite is Moonlight in Vermont. Of course, I have about 20 other favorites! Thank You.

I'll just tell you, i"m not the guy who often puts comments but guys you changed my life. Everytime I'm sad or something shit is happening I listen to your covers. Trust me, if you ever do an album I'll be the first one to buy it. Greetings from a French guy in the Netherlands!
