I think it is interesting that the five kings were hung on a tree, put in a cave where large stones were laid against the cave's mouth and they are there "til this day" and in the New Testament we have a King that was hung on a tree, placed in a cave (grave) where a large stone was rolled against it and He is NOT there today.

Thanks Pastor Skip for excellent teaching. I can hear the naysayers say “baloney” when they read 10:12-14. But again that’s because their god is a small god. Genesis 1:1 states God as Creator of the universe. He is the Grand Author of the laws of physics and can manipulate them at will to accomplish His purposes. This includes the laws of orbital mechanics that govern the motion of the sun, moon, and stars. The word “impossible” does not apply to Him. God is God. Also its interesting how you pointed out that even though these battles wiped out “all that breathed” in many cities - presumably including women and children - this doesn’t mean God condemned all of them to hell. As the One who kills and makes alive - God does not see death as the end of a person because He has made the human soul eternal and indestructible. With God on our side - victory is certain - including victory over death. God bless!

I love your sermons. However, I studied Classical Literature. St. Augustine can be categorized as beautiful lpoetry. Shakespeare is pretty irrelevant but you cannot dismiss him. It is a big mistake to criticize sublime writers.

Agree! Our FOCUS is Gods word! Sola Scriptura for all doctrine and theology…but to ignore the Historical writings of church Fathers completely would be missing out on a great wealth. The Puritans have much to teach us on devotion to Christ, the Reformers have much to teach us on living a life completely dedicated to the Word of God…unto death, if necessary. Only the Word of God is alive & active, but that certainly does not make other writings useless. It would be a great shame to have an entire generation ignore church history because Pastor Skip said to. I love Skip…but not this advice.

My dear brother. You are reading from the Bible, Joshua spoke and told the sun and moon to stop in their courses, not the earth to stop moving. You said more about the earth stopping, and earthly possible explanations than what the Bible said about the sun and moon stopping.
