Clottey beat the sit out of Judah, no head butt, here it's called an uppercut

Clottey uppercut is what split Zab's face.

The announcers were criticizing Clottey for not punching enough in the 1st 2 rounds, and Harold Lederman gave Judah both rounds. I disagree; Clottey is difficult to hit clean and he's known for that. He blocked nearly everything and Judah landed only a few jabs and 1 or 2 hooks, while Clotttey was choosing his shots more carefully as part of his plan to wear out Judah. Clottey threw enough punches and was landing a lot of clean punches to the head particularly and mostly power punches. Throwing more punches then the other guy can be a good thing but not if your landing a very small number of punches. Clottey won both of the first 2 rounds I believe, landing more of his own and blocking most of Judah's punches. Clottey was one of the hardest guys to beat in all of boxing. He was 39-5 for his career, but was really only 'beaten' once, or possibly twice. He was beating Baldomir but took a loss by DQ when he head butted Baldomir and Carlos was badly cut. Then he lost to Margarito in a fight that he was winning, but re-injured his right hand in the 5th round. He still fought well and lost by a decision, the injured hand likely cost him the fight. He also lost to Cotto in a rough fight that that he beat up Cotto. Cotto was given a split decision but Clottey won the fight. It was already decided that Cotto would fight Pacquiao next so he had to beat Clottey to make that huge fight with Pacquiao happen. They took the fight from Clottey for that reason. Then Clottey was beaten soundly in a unanimous decision; some questioned why Clottey played too much defense and didn't throw enough punches in that fight. Years later Clottey explained that he was pissed off with his trainer, who wasn't living up to an agreement they had, and wasn't even showing up for training. He was coming to collect his check after the fight and not much more. Clottey lost heart and decided to play defense rather then fight hard on offense and take the chance of getting beaten up by Pacquiao, who was beating the hell out of everyone at the time. Clottey then lost his last fight, a 10 rounder to Gabriel Rosado, who is a good fighter but Clottey was nearly 40 at the time and was winning the fight after the first half but eventually lost by decision,....... only the 2nd time that he 'really' lost in 44 fights. Clottey said he had signed to fight Canelo Alvarez and was in training camp for that fight when Canelo's management pulled out of the fight. Without a legitimate excuse, it's thought that they decided that Clottey was too dangerous for Canelo to follow through on his obligation. Clottey also claims that Mayweather ducked him because he was considered to be too dangerous for Floyd to fight. It's a fact that although Clottey was rated near the top of the WW division for several years, that Mayweather managed to dance around a fight with Clottey. Considering that the 3 losses against Margarito, Cotto and Baldomir were legitimately controversial, and even his last fight at nearly 40 years of age was a close fight that he was winning at the half way point against Rosado, it can be said he was only soundly beaten by Pacquiao, or twice if you want to count the Rosada loss. The truth is that Zab was a notch beneath Clottey in terms of toughness and all around ability to get the job done.

Judah could clearly see that it was 2 fingers,he said 3 b/c he didn't want to fight anymore,Clottey was hurting him! Once again,Judah deliberately quit!

Judah does fade in big fights ,but how could you possibly say what a fighter can see. Unless of course Clottey's at your house punching you in the face too ,and your vision is fine.

I'm a Ghanaian and saddened by insane defeat of Joshua Clottey. Clottey possesses all the raw materials of a seasoned boxer. He needs not box carelessly and gets defeated miserably. Clottey has the boxer physique. He has to train like mad, just go extra mile as Manny does and victory will never elude you. That's what a poor immigrant like Joshua Clottey should emulate. Let's pray for our fellow immigrants in their strife for laurels, a better life, other words to say.

Clottey beat the fight out of Judah. Clottey has good defence and wastes no punches, but when he throws, he hits hard!

Judah wasted his career by being trained by his father! If he had been with a better trainer,he could've been a force in the boxing game!

Judah looked defeated after 8 in his corner. That was a bad cut but he was done after 8 and a punch caused that cut. . . He was bailed. Someone On Judah’s side saying "we want a rematch!".

In the 9th round Max was still 'very impressed' with Judah, and Judah threw a flurry of punches at the end of the 8th round that had the announcers asking if he stole that round. All the while Clottey was landing clean, hard shots more and more frequently, yet they were not giving him the credit he was due. Clottey was beating Judah badly from the 1st round in my opinion, at the end of the 8th round you were being generous if you gave Judah more then a round or two. The announcers were a bit biased against Clottey, or they weren't seeing the action accurately, as Clottey was winning easily I thought.

Yeah I gave the first 2 rounds to clottey. I didn’t agree with announcers at all. Also sounds like the doc believed he could see. I think zab bailed because he was breaking down quick and after that cut he didn’t want to fight anymore knowing it was gonna get worse from there.

While Harold Lederman was criticizing Clottey, saying the first 2 rounds he did nothing but defense, Clottey was busting up Judah's face at that very moment. Lederman was wrong, Clottey's offense is 'quiet' as he isn't a fancy guy that throws a lot of flurries that look good but essentially do little or nothing. In the first round for example. I counted that Clottey landed 20 punches, most power shots, and landed at a high percentage, probably over 40%. I considered the punches that I couldn't see very well to be all missed punches, so he may have landed a few more. Landing 20 in a 12 round fight would mean 240 landed over 12 rounds, that's far from being not active enough, or 'doing nothing', as Lederman claimed. Judah was already looking battered and had a bloody nose in the 2nd round, by the 4th Max Kellerman said that Judah looks busted up so 'someone' is landing shots on him. Even a former great fighter like Lennox Lewis isn't necessarily a good fight analyst, and that's true of a majority of former fighters. Being a great fighter gives some insight but has no relationship to being a good analyst otherwise. You either see and understand what's taking place in a fight or you don't.

What the heel is max talking about ? Zab is getting his ass whooped and those punches he's thrown have no effect on clottey.

but if you think for a second he quit because he thought he won. why continue fighting for extra rounds when you have a fight in a bag? he may not have quit if he felt he was losing
