With three players lefts in the 2024 Derby City Classic Bank Pool Division, Joshua Filler faced off against Shane Van Boening to determine who would move on to the finals.
Van Boening is a winner of every division on offer at Derby City, except for this title. He is a five time US Open 9-Ball Champion, and World 8-Ball Champion.
Filler, had been crowned as the 2024 Derby City Classic Bigfoot 10-Ball Champion just one day before this match.
Both of these players were fully capable of stringing together a run of shots, when given the opportunity. This match would turn out to be a perfect example of what can happen when a top player gets on a roll.

@diathekedriven He was on the same table playing bank pool against Justin Hall in the finals and everyone was cheering, laughing, etc. Josh and Justin were having fun. But the crowd was much more biased against Joshua when he was playing a more serious game against Shane. I know the American crowd wants Shane to win, and there are probably a lot of betting going on. But it was a totally different experience going from a crowd cheering for you, and pretty much the same people later on only cheering for Shane.
