I love your videos on INFPs. You talk about us with such passion and excitement! I love to hear people explain the INFP perspective but it’s almost always from a philosophical or observational standpoint. I’m a rare 5w4 INFP and I crave a deeper knowledge of how and why we exist. I’ve found some who are good at explaining how we are but to me knowledge you’re the only one trying to explain “why” we are. You have some very good insight into the INFP condition. I might rewatch this and comment in more detail. But I’m tired now and need to process this. Note that I specifically delayed sleeping to consume this, I couldn’t wait!

You are AMAZING. I feel very seen by your analysis. I feel like you translated me to myself. I will re-watch this, because I feel there are layers here to absorb. Your language is one that I must acclimate to in a good way, my brain is lighting up with your word usage. Thank you for saying we are useful to this world and that others need to get out of our way... Im not sure if other INFPs feel that we are forced into an ESTJ world and not allowed to be us, but I do. And from this mirror you are providing, Im even more resolute in standing my infp ground.

I have struggled my whole life with not caring about anything but as you put it mopey exploring, both inner self and the world! I observe and take everything in. And you are right I am always on the lookout for bad. I know instinctively what is beautiful and true, and what is dark and terrible. I've always been trying to understand who I am, why I am here, and felt burdened by how to best make use of my life. I love nature so much and feel such a longing for connection with all that is, but I can never quite reach it. Only just took the MBT and learned I am an INFP and that there are others like me! Your theories on INFP's ring very true for me. It's nice to know my way of being has an evolutionary purpose but it doesn't answer the larger question: Why any of this? At all?

Interesting. As an INFP, I do resonate with the idea of finding it necessary to “become something.” I usually go through phases in life where I’m obsessed with different activities or ideas. It may just be that I’m experimenting with a way of being/thinking but I really feel the need to take whatever it is seriously. For example, I used to be interested in conspiracy theories when I was a kid and I lived and breathed that shit. Then I was interested in being a magician and I would bother the fuck out of people forcing them to watch my tricks. Some people enjoyed them. My friends/family hated me lol. Currently, I’ve become interested in physics and am now pursuing it as a second major in college. I’m not really sure what my overarching motive in studying physics is other than that I find life more tolerable learning about things that interest me and experiencing the feeling of awe. So far, physics has been very awe-inducing which is what motivated me to pursue it in the first place. So, you can sort of say that I’m really in it for the awe, and not necessarily for making sense of the world, but for me those can go hand in hand. I’ve only just completed Introductory Physics 2 by the way, so I know I’m probably in for a rude awakening. Anyway, despite my motivation, I still feel the need to study just as physicists do and hopefully I’ll have time to reflect on it through my own inquiry. I’m also attracted to the philosophy of physics, but I’ve tried reading a book on it and only understood one concept. Literally just ordered another philosophy of physics book like an idiot. This one is by Marc Lange if you ever heard of it. Anyway, the plan is to major in physics, and possibly go to graduate school but drop out after the first couple of years. I know it’s gunna be stressful but I really feel like I have to study it seriously and standardly. But I know I will find it interesting and awe-inspiring. Psychology has a few interesting and positive things to say about awe too. So it makes sense why someone might chase such a feeling. Also, my inferior extroverted thinking function (seeking function) probably drives my liking toward science also.

WOW ! Joshua.... I feel like my brain just got a workout due to listening closely to your wording. First time seeing you. What a pleasure. Your flow and presentation of summations challenged my strength of focus and was delight to experience. I thank you for giving words and concepts to how it is for me to BE in the world. What a delightful young (to me) person you are.... I’m so glad you decided to share your intelligence with myself and others. Well Come young man.... I def am working on self to help manifest and in shifting what’s here on/in earth going forward. I’m led to help prepare for and ‘have the back’ of the you younger (beautiful) people who are incarnating now. I was feeling a little discouraged.... exposure to your verve, intelligence and understanding has been a real shot in the arm for me today. Thank you [I want to mention a book I like that was recently published by Dawson Church named “Mind to Matter”] Again, thank you Joshua. 🙏🏻 Paige

I enjoyed this video, Joshua L. Keep up your content. As a 4w5 infp I'm always grateful whenever somebody can diagnose things about my intentions, and explain them to me in an accurate way. I do feel like I have a god complex at times, and if I'm not permitted to cross lines I get cynically rebellious, and in a kind of condescending way.

You're welcome, INFPs give me a lot to think about they being dominated introverted feelers in all, so glad to repay the favor. Sure, icon-o-clastic, that is iconoclastic derived from the word iconoclast.

Like how you keep adding finer levels of resolution and analysis to your typology videos on infps and infjs. Its quite impressive the level of insight you're able to produce. And thanks for making a case for the necessity of our existence

Not being an INFP and having so little to work on, it's extraordinary how much insight you have managed to pull. Just here to encourage your work. Hopefully we'll see videos like these on INTPs too.

Solid stuff. If this is your level of detail that you're trying to go through with feeling then intuition seems as though it will be really challenging. We all have an idea of the surface level descriptions; this level of depth is sparsely explored. Ne may be the most challanging, I can see why you removed the ENTP vid to refine things more. The whole 'explosion of ideas' thing seems more accurate for how it appears rather than what it is. I'll wait for your Q&A before engaging your points here for the sake of effectiveness. Excellent video, well articulated

Delete the comment; wasn't sure if it could be taken the wrong way. Reposted here: Long time viewers still here, watching most of your vids, looking for a fix...ENTPs are like the champions of new logical paradigms. They invite challenge by any means for themselves and others to make sure that the best idea remain on top and that we are not following a given interpretation blindly. They are interested in expressing new ways of thinking and are likely to reject seeing or calling themselves a teacher or an authority regarding a system of ideas, despite perhaps being the most competent and instead they often seek avenues of making a topic more engaging so that the recipient becomes more interested and invested in exploring the topic on their own and finding their own angles to see things.

What's your opinion on countability is a mechanism? I find it interesting myself how a lot of Te if I'm playing by the numbers and calling a spade a spade is iterative methods on emergently intuited base cases and the explanation is the only thing nonlinear
@mpcc2022
@mpcc2022 6 жыл бұрын
It's the case that countability or grouping patterns and objects in linear fashion is one of the most common perceptive factors. To have different perception instincts are evolutionary niches, but are more uncommon than not. All human beings slice the world up in terms of grouping, but not all are interested in using this grouping being the prerequisites for it's reasoning about the world, but the further you diverge from this tendency the closer one approaches what we consider mental insanity.
