I don't understand why everyone keeps saying the Chargers aren't competing for a Super bowl this year. They have the number one scoring defense and are tops in special teams. There are maybe two or three complete teams in the NFL. The rest are up in the air. The Chargers are in a very advantageous situation so it doesn't make sense to me. Give Herbert weapons and IOL.

You could argue the "Elite" team in the AFC are the Bills. But its not the Chiefs, Steelers, or Ravens. The Chiefs offense & QB are struggling. The Steelers offense is still unknown. The Ravens defense is struggling. The Texans offense is catching the injury bug. The Chargers are right in the mix and its much closer then some would like to admit.

When we say the Chargers aren't competing for a Super Bowl, and you go down the roster and compare depth charts, the two teams are not that far apart. What separates them is Andy Reid playcalling vs Greg Roman more so than the players. The Chargers ST and DEF are playing lights out. Its all on the Chargers O.

The Chargers receiving group is one of the worst in the league. That is a pretty important component to a team contending for a super bowl. The middle of the offensive line is a problem too. They are going to struggle against any good defense. Maybe next year if they can acquire a good WR or two and fix the middle of the offensive line.

I think someone we should all keep an eye out for is DK metcalf, rumors were Seattle was possibly exploring the idea this off-season of trading him because he has the least amount of guaranteed money of any WR and possibly looking for a new deal soon. We all talk about Higgins but you know how it goes when we get focused on one player. DK is 26 and fits everything we need at WR also he has a great relationship with now chargers WR coach Sanjay Lal. I doubt it happens but what if Seattle lose this Sunday realize they aren’t getting far with the team constructed as is and look for picks. Say we propose Seattle Palmer, a 2nd & 4th for Metcalf & a 5th. I would target DNJ from The Browns, not sure why you would move off Palmer? He is a pro and has a great chemistry with Herbert when healthy. Almost feels like the old Chargers. You're always waiting for a trade, and then nothing happens. Maybe the Chargers think that this season is truly a rebuilding season, and if they get in the playoffs with what they have...cool. But they're really stockpiling for next season. That's what it's beginning to feel like. It's always the elite teams like KC and Balt. that get these quality WRs. But then again, they're trying to get in the playoffs this year and go deep in the playoffs. We're not there yet...maybe next year.

I think upgrading over zion johnson is more important than bozeman I think bozeman is slowly getting better and he is getting better qemistry with herbert his deal is super cheap and its a one year deal so we know they probably using free agency or draft next offseason to upgrade at center zion has been super bad and my opinion would be more important to upgrade that spot I know he is decent at run blocking but thats not enough for me with how bad he is at pass blocking and resigning kristian fulton is fine to me as long as its a team friendly deal because he still has injury concerns and we look deeper now at corner because of cam hart and tarheeb still it has to be another 1or2 year deal that is team friendly

Joe REALLY BLEW IT by not signing Johnson! I really can't believe he did that, just because it looks like he doesn't want to give up a draft pick! As it ended up we wouldn't have lost ANY GD picks AND would've got a DAMN good WR

I think someone we should all keep an eye out for is DK metcalf, rumors were Seattle was possibly exploring the idea this off-season of trading him because he has the least amount of guaranteed money of any WR and possibly looking for a new deal soon. We all talk about Higgins but you know how it goes when we get focused on one player. DK is 26 and fits everything we need at WR also he has a great relationship with now chargers WR coach Sanjay Lal. I doubt it happens but what if Seattle lose this Sunday realize they aren’t getting far with the team constructed as is and look for picks. Say we propose Seattle Palmer, a 2nd & 4th for Metcalf & a 5th. Just floating ideas I’m no GM, but it’s one sneaky move I could see happening before the deadline or possibly this upcoming off-season.
