Problems occur once the archetype's selection pack is no longer available to you and you have to craft EVERY SINGLE card. Imagine having to craft 15 Tearlaments cards when the selection pack is gone in addition to all the staples you need to craft since they're literally all master pack only cards.

Yeah I made Swordosul pretty late and it was aids to do it. And that deck only has like 10ish URs you have to craft, 2 of them being just useful generic synchro monsters (plus I did pull Chengying thankfully), so its much easier than most, cant imagine how it is for people that want to build some worse decks like Tear

Hi, f2p here, started a couple days before the spright pack was released. If you can manage your gems being a f2p and having the "best decks" of the format is doable. Sometimes you dont get to flex as many techs, and sometimes you dont have a complete deck so you have to find other things to jam in. A compilation of decks ive made so far: Pure/Runick/Twin/Mellfy spright, Branded Despia/Thunder dragon, Swordsoul, Ishizu Tearlaments. Ive had to use cheap Lyrilusc for most events. Salamangreat was used in the last one. I really wanted to make an Exosister, Floo, and Madolche deck but I cant justify making them when theres no secret pack for Exo, floo keeps catching strays, and madolche needs like 7 URs in the extra.

​@@SR3TG119 Idk, if there's an event going on with loaner decks, you can easily start the game with around 10k gems. You can build anything you want with that much + the duel pass crafting points. They probably don't have every staple card you'd want, but owning playable versions of those decks after a few months is not unreasonable.

I am 12k into Tear Pack and 4k into ishizu, got 3 Tear UR ( 1 double Fieldspell ..) 1 Ishizu UR idk how it is supposed to be possible as f2p, getting 4 No URs in the Pack just kills all Motivation

I haven't open any packs since the Brande fusion ones, I got 1 BF and then all BE jet, Mystic Elf, and Branded lost. Fortunately I got enough dust to craft the others, but Konami keeps adding useless cards as UR

This guy: (Pulls 2 URs from 500 gems) Me: "Is it possible to learn this power?..." I spent 2k Gems in the Traptrix/Darkworld/Labrynth selection pack ...and got 2 URs. I also spent like 10k gems on the Bystial pack and got 21 Extra Deck URs ...to 3 Main Deck URs with one of them being the worthless Armed Dragon card. Totaling a 7 to 1 Extra Deck to Main Deck UR pull ratio despite it being less than 2 to 1 in the pack itself.

No. The guaranteed SR from a 10 pack pull has a 20% chance to be a UR instead, which instantly makes the 10 packs better even if you want URs. If the guaranteed SR didn't exist, then yes, it would be better to single pull, because you could just stop once you have enough, instead of being forced to buy in multiples of 10.
