Fairly new to race quads. What I find confusing about the frisky radios is that you can bind one model to the same receiver number, but I don’t see anywhere to unbind a model from the receiver number. I have the QX7 and X-Lite Pro transmitters. I’m using the X-Lite Pro most of the time now and am not having any ergonomic issues although I have transitioned to pinching. I did purchase the neck strap mount and longer stick ends. I ended up buying a neck strap labeled “Made For DJI” because it was the only one I saw that had a fastener that looked like it wasn’t going to accidentally disconnect. I had this happen while flying with my QX7 and a different strap.
@norgtube5 жыл бұрын
You just can't have 2 models flying on the same receiver number, that's all.
@TechnicallyTom5 жыл бұрын
@@norgtube Let me explain in a little more detail. The first quad I bought was a Babyhawk R. I managed to lose it in a large field by crashing and having the battery unplug. I bough another to replace it, but found it later. Since I now had two, I copied one of the models on my QX7 but did not notice that it was set to the same receiver number. Later I noticed that I could fly either quad with either model settings, which I suppose could be useful if you always want the settings the same between the two. I had assumed that pairing a new model to the same receiver number would overwrite it. If it doesn't overwrite it, is there somewhere to list multiple receivers or do each of the receivers have the same pairing information since they use the same receiver number. Does pairing one of the receivers to a new number remove it from the previous number?

Hey, you didn’t mention the auto-bind feature! After it’s registered wirelessly, you can just turn on the transmitter and turn on the reciever and boom! Auto bind! I make sure the props aren’t hitting it. even with the stiff plastic they’re breaking from landing in grass upswide down or from punching the throttle

No idea what the latency of FlySky AFHDS 2A is but I can't say I've ever noticed any lag whatsoever, the instant I move the sticks my servos respond. Latency is also more than just the protocol, the hardware encoding and decoding will also affect the measurable response and two different tx's or rx's running identical protocol will differ slightly but you would need lab equipment to measure it but I think you'd need that to genuinely discern any difference between old and new protocols anyway :) I think this obsession with latency is like the craving gamers have for frame rates humans can't even see. I get high latency in video does make a difference but some cameras can inject very high latency to the point where it's very noticeable but control latency is already so low I can't imagine anyone can really tell the difference and faced with numbers on paper convince themselves they can feel the difference lol

X9 lite 🤔, now we know what's new, but worth the upgrade from the budget flysky fs-i6x ( moded with jumper ts80g v2 hall sensor gimbals)?

Did you do the complete upgrade of the radio, including update the power module? See Albert Kim's video for full instructions.

@@JoshuaBardwell yes i did... all updates done, isrm-n update from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 and i can switch between eu lbt and fcc, opentx is flashed to 2.3.0n49 and newest betaflight is flashed

when i fly fpv i don't see or feel the latency that much the only time i see or feel it is if im flying line of sight thats when i can tell the dif in latency the most. i love my xlight and i just got my new xlight pro up and working just did my first test flight and i will say it feels good in the air. is it worth upgrading yes and no yes is if you can part with $200. There is nothing wrong with the old xlight the gimbals dont feel $200 better the flight only feels maybe 1-3% better. ACCESS i feel could be a big game changer for frsky only time will tell all the options and possibility of what could be and what may be comming i feel is good for somthing new to come out because now they have to put $ into it to make it better and better unlike the old system thats been the same for years now. new stuff is coming that the old systems are not going to work with.

how this archaic system of open tx is something we consider good for users blows my mind.

Put it on a circuit and time yawself. Then you will notice the latency.

It's just a bunch of pointless gimmicks used as an excuse to try to lock newbies into a proprietary system. It all sounds cool in theory, but in practice it doesn't bring anything useful to the table for most pilots but takes away backwards compatibility and competing module compatibility. The only receivers I ever *had to* update were R9 because I was hoping each new update would make them failsafe less. If you care about sharing quads, you could bind them to external modules (you can get a 4in1 that supports virtually any 2.4GHz receiver for $30-35 that fits into pretty much any radio on the marker except these two) and swap those along with the quads (or, you know, just mount your RX so the button is more accessible if you want to use it again) and you could share the model files via SD cards within seconds. Spectrum alanyzer and power meter...rofl. Channel map on the RX is genuinely useful but just another thing they couldn't bother to properly copy from TBS. Latency is still not close to Crossfire so people that care about that won't suddenly switch to ACCESS anyway... If they wanted to make something new and genuinely useful, they could have open sourced the protocol and let anyone use it without fees (right now the name is pretty ironic). Then make some nice hardware that people want to buy because it actually works and is reliable and/or have customer service that you can reach when your radio eats its own antenna cable and fries its RF board as a result of transmitting without an antenna after 4 months of use. No one in their right mind should ever buy another FrSky product.

I think the access protocol is going to be coming to older radios as well such as the qx7 and x9d
@roymoon15 жыл бұрын
I doubt it. They want you to buy a new xmitter. Then force you to buy their receivers forever.
@doom3crazy5 жыл бұрын
@@roymoon1 I've confirmed with frsky the access protocol is coming to older transmitters as listed above. The biggest feature included will be the OTA updates. The biggest difference is that access will be more limited in features on older radios. The older radios wont get the better baud rates/latency features like the new transmitters will.
@roymoon15 жыл бұрын
@@doom3crazy So upgrade for less? Sign me up! I still think it's just talk. I've been in electronics for 45 years. I've heard this promise before.Too much risk and time on their part for too little reward.The risk is customers bricking their xmitter. Talk about pissed customers. Reward the sale of $30 receivers? Vaporware I call it.
@doom3crazy5 жыл бұрын
@@roymoon1 Yeah I hear ya. Idk. To me it would seem like a really dumb move not to support older radios. Plus upon announcement of Access it was said by frsky that all older products would be getting support. Even if they come out with a new x9d and qx7 "access" versions, they really can't expect people to go out and buy a new TX. I feel like that would sink them so quick but then again, who knows lol

I waited long for news about ACCESS and still don't know, what's going on. So I could fly D16 with one of these new Radios and/or I could update all my Receivers to ACCESS. That's good...but I heared, a downgrade from ACCESS to ACCST isn't possible? So I'm trapped, if I upgrade? My "old" FrSky Radio is useless, if all my Receivers run ACCESS?! Will there be a ACCESS Firmware for older Frsky Radios and could I downgrade to ACCST? So....I'll wait and watch out for new Videos..😎👍
